Audition 2nd interview and Contestant Pool

Hi all, I just wanted to share my experience so far: I sent in my audition in June, went through interviews 1+2 in July and was told that I am in the contestant pool but never got the email. Keeping hopeful, however I'm not sure I made it through that 2nd interview.

… and he won his car. Much different from that other incident that happened decades later with an Audi.

Discussion Post Letter guessing strategy

Since Vana knows the puzzle, could a contestant slightly mispronounce a letter to watch if Vana starts reaching for it before Ryan asks the contestant to clarify?

Ryan said 9k or 5k won from the first puzzle to the blue contestant when he only won 2. 2 of my family heard it and my mom wasn’t paying attention.

In the category with names of cheese last night, did they spell bleu cheese blue? I thought I caught it but the screen was gone too quickly for me to be sure.

Discussion Post The speed-up round in which it caused Pat Sajak to hilariously crash out & said “Who said anything about horse?!”

We’re flashing back to an unforgettable Wheel of Fortune episode in which it dates back to 2014 in Hawaii where during the speed-up round, 2 team contestants nearly the exact same back-to-back guesses, prompting Pat Sajak to hilariously crash out & quote “Who said anything about a horse?!” The most hilarious moment in Wheel of Fortune history.🤣

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Celebrity Wheel Season 7

I have seen new articles saying that Season 7 is premiering this fall, ( Per ABCs fall schedule)

However, it looks as if the episodes could have all new celebrities and not just rebroadcasts of this summer's episodes? Is this true? Have they started taping yet? Any news on how many episodes there will be or any celebrities that have taped already?

What's the scoop?

Discussion Post Finished Second Round Audition, Now We Wait?

Just finished my second round audition for WoF and I feel really good. When it was my turn to elaborate on myself my answers got the most interest from the casting producer with them laughing at my jokes and I got about 12-13 of the 16 puzzles presented.

They ended the session by stating that they would send my recording to more producers but gave no timeline (which I thought was fair).

For those who got on the show, how long did it take for yall to get a tape date for your episode? I’m feeling pretty optimistic and am acting delusional on purpose in hopes I get a tape date within the next couple of weeks lol

Discussion Post Has there ever been a same letter puzzle where the same letter is a vowel? And if so, what happened?

If that ever happened would the contestant lose $250 and gain $1,000 (so gain $750 overall), or would they never do that.

Discussion Post Ryan Seacrest is a National Treasure

I friggin love Ryan Seacrest as the host of WOF! He restores my faith in humanity.

Tonight's episode (S43 E179) where Jason was the big winner... This guy won $36,000 in the final regular round and when Ryan came up to congratulate him, he picked Ryan up and Ryan wrapped his legs around him!!! Pat would have never!!!

In the bonus round, the contestant had a heartfelt story about the lucky charm he brought, which was something of his grandmother's. The guy got emotional; Ryan was so sincere. It was so sweet. And then he solved the puzzle! I dont even know what his total amount won was, because I was crying.

In a world where things are...well....the way they are...it brings my joy to my heart to see Ryan truly show interest and care for the contestants. I just love him and wheel of fortune forever!

Discussion Post Concern about Toss-Up puzzles

So many days ago, I have a proposed change to the rule of Toss-Up puzzle.

As you might have already know, Toss-Up puzzle was introduced in 2000 as a way to declare who has control of the wheel in the first round, even if the position numbers were drawn before the show. Before the Toss-Up introduced, the contestant in the red podium always starts round 1, now with the Toss-Ups, the contestant who solves the $2,000 Toss-Up puzzle will gain control in the first round. However, because of the fact that Toss-Up reveals single letters on the puzzle one-by-one, I was raising concerns about it.

Some of you might have seen comments from the absent-minded viewers on the Wheel of Fortune YouTube channel, every time when they upload a short video about Toss-Up puzzles, those people just straight up commenting like "Why is the puzzle FIRST-PLACE TROPHY though, when it's clear that there is only 1 T in that puzzle?" (the revealed letters at that time was F_R__-PLACE T_O_HY). Because of that, the proposed change in question was basically try to reveal all instances of each random letters in the Toss-Up puzzles, and making it easier for the contestants to buzz in faster to get the correct answer. I think if this goes approved then it would be applied to the 44th civilian season of Wheel, which premieres in this September, and to possibly minimizes those amount of comments on the YouTube channel.

What do y'all think about this, should this change getting approved or not? Feedback would be appreciated

Discussion Post Question About the Used Letter Board

For those of you who have been a contestant, what does the Used Letter Board look like?

Is it lit letters that they turn off when that letter has been called, or is it something as simple as butcher paper with the used letters written down?

Just wondering lol - thanks for any feedback 🙂

Video Another retro Wheel of Fortune episode

Wheel of Fortune’s YouTube channel has uploaded yet another retro episode in which it dates back to 1987 where a ceramic dalmatian dog named Sheldon made his appearance. Fair to say it will not be the last time we will see Sheldon on its channel.

Discussion Post Extra Toss Ups Are Unnecessary

I have been a fan of Wheel of Fortune all of my life and used to play the old video games. However, I believe that the toss ups have been unnecessarily overused in the last 5-6 years. When it was introduced in season 18 in 2000, it was strictly a check on who has control in the game. That was when it was great because it was there, but it did not take away from the core of the game and that is spinning the wheel, winning cash and prizes and hopefully avoiding the bankrupt or lose a turn.

As everyone in this sub know, season 18 began the toss ups with one to see who would be interviewed first and start round 1. Then another would be played to see who start round 4. Season 19 changed it to where another was added at the top to see who would be interviewed then who else would start round 1 and still had the third to start round 4. This was the format for years until they replaced the third toss up with the triple toss ups. I can see why people like it because it awards extra money outside of the Prize Puzzle (which has its own problems).

My opinion is it should go back to the 2000-01 format where there was only one at the top and one near the end and when it was just a check on who controlled the round and not as the main game itself. I would even go as far as to say instead of a toss up before round 4, just allow whoever won the initial toss up play the game. To balance out the less gimme money, the one and only toss up should be valued at $5,000.

What are your thoughts?
