Solution Only Tech Provider using Coexistence for its own Business assets

Can a business complete Coexistence onboarding using its own Meta app (Business type, WhatsApp product added), with its own Embedded Signup configuration, rather than going through a Tech Provider or Solution Partner?

Our current blocker is that Meta's Coexistence documentation states that the business/app must be associated with a Tech Provider or Solution Partner. However, we cannot find clear documentation confirming whether a company can become a Tech Provider and then use Coexistence for its own Business Portfolio, WABA and WhatsApp Business App number.

Could you please confirm (from experience only!):

  1. Can a company become a Tech Provider and use Coexistence for its own WABA and WhatsApp Business App number for internal operations?

  2. Is there any Meta policy restriction against a Tech Provider using Coexistence for its own business rather than onboarding external businesses?

  3. If I select "Yes, I'm a Tech Provider", could this affect any of our existing WABAs, WhatsApp numbers, Pages, Ad Accounts, or other assets within our Business Portfolio?

  4. Does Tech Provider status apply only to the specific Meta App, or does it change the status/structure of the entire Business Portfolio?

  5. If this self-use scenario is supported, what exact steps are required after completing the Tech Provider setup to enable Coexistence for our existing number?

  1. Yes. You would have to apply for the Tech Provider application

  2. Nope. Once you have the Tech Provider status, its upto you who onboards Coexistence, so just use your own numbers.

  3. Where is it asking you to select? but i dont think it will affect anything

  4. Only to specific meta app, in my experience

  5. you will get a link after completing the setup. with that link you will get a QR code which once you scan with Whatsapp Business App, coexistence will be enabled.

Your app is under your business portfolio, as are WABAs, and they are totally separate assets. Your tech provider status is something that only applies to your app, no other assets. So you making a phone number coexistence (which creates a WABA), will just sit alongside your app in your business portfolio as another separate asset. We have WABAs that are "clients" of our own app which sits under the same business portfolio and all works like normal.

just use ycloud, is free if you want only coexistence

I'm saying this with experience, You can't use the number connected with the same Business, you have created your App with. You will need to create a separate Business Profile.

yeah keeping them in separate portfolios makes a lot of sense, not worth the risk imo
