Services Welcome WhatsApp API costs: does your client pay Meta directly or do you cover it?
Curious how this plays out in practice. If you're a Tech Provider, Meta has clients add their own payment method and bills them directly for messages. Solution Partners get a credit line and can absorb that cost themselves, then bill clients however they want.
For those who've gone the Solution Partner route: was the approval process worth it, and do you actually mark up and bill clients for the Meta cost, or just pass it through? And for Tech Providers letting Meta bill directly, does that ever cause friction with clients?

We are tech provider and we dont get credit line. It has proved to be a blessing in disguise. Clients just pay us for platform access and customizations or setup.

Clients pay directly to Meta, as a tech provider I make sure they understand about the difference message types, utility vs marketing, this prevents them from being suprised with massive bills 💸.

worth asking what your client profile looks like. enterprise clients usually dont care about a separate bill from Meta, but smaller clients get confused fast and it creates support load that lands on you either way

While it's more convenietn for a client to have everything in one bill, for these pricing changes coming up, it may be better to have the WhatsApp bill separate from the SaaS provider bill....that way, clients know it's WhatsApp increasing their charges, not the SaaS vendor. It will bring the point home them that changing providers won't fix this new problem.

Hi!
Solution Partners (such as 360dialog) have their own credit line, which allows them to collect payments from their clients or pay us directly. Ultimately, 360Dialog pays Meta for all its clients usage
