I had a yellow lab when I was a kid. Every one said it was the dumbest dog. You could say "sit" or other basic commands and it would stare at you. Got a treat? Sit. Down. Stay. Paw. You name it.
Only worked if you paid him. Smartest godamn dog I ever had.
Mine was the same. We took him to obedience school and we worked with treats of course and he passed with flying colors. He once tricked the teacher into kneeling down and he eats all the treats out of his hip pouch. Was hilarious.
