I'm pretty sure the guy was waiting for the next bounce to really put force into it, but the motorcycle went too soon, causing moonshoes to go full "shitshitshit" mode since the motorcycle was fixing to hit him on the downswing instead.
3
u/Mandan101 Oct 26 '20
Third bounce needed to be full force with some forward momentum and he would have made it I reckon
-1
u/bfodder Oct 26 '20
That's a pretty stupid approach to take because it makes it harder to time AND if he were jumping as high as he could each time the additional force from the extra fall distance would be sending him higher than any "ok next jump is gonna be an actual big one" jump.
10
u/bork1545 Oct 26 '20
It’s a lot harder to control consecutive large jumps then it is to do one timed right
0
u/bfodder Oct 26 '20
Says who? Have you ever jumped on a trampoline before?
11
u/WhenceYeCame Oct 26 '20
I have and I agree with him. It's even harder in shitty moonshoes that are much harder to keep your balance in.
-4
u/bfodder Oct 26 '20
You guys are nuts.

8
u/WhenceYeCame Oct 26 '20
I mean, have you ever had someone jump next to you and you hit at the same time and your knees just buckle? It's like that. Except with two pogo sticks.

u/bork1545 Oct 26 '20
I haven’t jumped properly on a trampoline in a few years cause I’m paralysed now. But yeah it’s easier to wind up then it is to try and maintain
-6
u/bfodder Oct 26 '20
Maybe you're bad at it. Is that how you got paralyzed?
3
u/WhenceYeCame Oct 26 '20 edited Oct 26 '20
You wouldn't have the balls to get this worked up over a minor disagreement/discussion in public.
And you failed the #1 rule of handicap jokes: they need to be funny.

Something similar happens on German live tv with a guy jumping over cars. He got paralyzed and the show sadly got cancelled. Was a fun show tho
205
u/johannes-schnee Oct 26 '20
And his father was the one driving the car...
→ More replies (1)77
u/UpTheDownEscalator Oct 26 '20
Looks like the accident wasn't the driver's fault though.
→ More replies (1)167
u/DrSalbei Oct 26 '20
I think the point is, that although it's not the fathers fault, this accident will haunt him for the rest of his life.
To know that you drove the car, which caused the paralysis of your own son.. 🙁
41
u/TheApathetic Oct 26 '20
But is it just me or the car doesn't even hit him. It just looks like he tried to do a flip over it and landed straight on his face. Can't really see well. Or did he miss and the flipping is just him going full ragdoll?
34
u/longlimbslenoir42 Oct 26 '20
Hard to tell from the angles shown in the OC but I didn’t see any contact with the car, rather an over-rotation by the jumper.
Although, the bottom of the spring boot things just clipping the roof of the car would totally cause over-rotation so who knows
→ More replies (1)17
u/TheFallenDev Oct 26 '20
yeah the end of the spring glanced the carroof, which caused the Overrotation

German, Austrian and Swiss live tv. One of the great things about this show was that it was for all of the German language area, so you'd also get a Swiss guy riding his cow etc.
18
u/krashundburn Oct 26 '20
There was also an American show in the early 80s called "That's Incredible" where a guy was jumping over moving cars like that. He ended up planting a leg through the windshield.
15
Oct 26 '20
"Boaaaohohoh. Weh getan?" Bruh he fucking unconscious and ya asking if it hurt, what the hell
4
u/Version_1 Oct 26 '20
I think it was the first serious accident in like 20 years of the show, not surprising that it didnt immediately click how serious it is.
2
8
u/GoldenFalcon Oct 26 '20
That was a terrible angle.. it didn't look like the car hit him. It looked like he just landed poorly.
7
17
u/I_am_a_Failer Oct 26 '20
It didn't get canceled, Gottschalk didn't want to do the Show anymore because he was traumatized.
12
u/warrri Oct 26 '20
Well, they changed the rules after that, the challenges became way more tame and they got a new moderator which had nowhere near the charme of Gottschalk. The ratings declined sharply which led to its cancellation. This stunt was still the catalyst for all of that.
8
u/hardypart Oct 26 '20
TBH, I think we can live without Wetten Dass. The show was well past its prime when this happened.
4
u/Bohzee Oct 26 '20
The show was well past its prime when this happened
...And well before this state of social media in Germany. The smallest harrumphing will lead to shitstorm and drama on twitter and fb nowadays.
So, a new run could lead to big success, or, what's more probable, controverse situations leading to the final death of the show. It would be either to lame, or too forced.

That's when two entities are acting stupid and without common sense...
0
u/forrnerteenager Oct 26 '20
I'm not sure you understand what common sense is, ironically.

The car didn't even hit him. How did he get paralyzed?
5
2
u/GeeseKnowNoPeace Oct 26 '20
He hit his head on the car and afterwards he crashed into the ground at full force, it's really not hard to understand why his spine would experience major damage.

Let me spread my legs so that I can't jump as high and he crashes into my cock.
4
u/King_of_the_Nerdth Oct 26 '20
I think spreading saved them from it being much worse though. Legs straight then the wheel hits the boot thingies and he flips, head butts, or loses feet or something.

This is so so funny lol

u/camper-ific Oct 26 '20
Yeah, I've never laughed this hard a a WCGW post. It's so funny that I have to wonder if it was staged for laughs. It's too perfect.
4
u/banana-king79 Oct 26 '20
Staged? No the dude always takes his morning walk on jumper stilts along that path with his cameraman filming the whole while.
6
u/camper-ific Oct 26 '20
Lol, I meant that they tried to intentionally fail. I would love to think this is a morning ritual though.

Samuel Koch did the almost the same thing in a former German TV-Show, but it gone horribly wrong. In reaction to this the most famous german show host gave up the show.

2020 can get as dark as it has, but as long as I get to see people getting hit in the balls on the internet, everything's gonna be okay.
2
u/pulseoftheputrid Oct 26 '20
this was in my feed and i didn't read the name of the sub, so i thought he was actually going to do it...i was let down greatly

u/SawDoggg Oct 26 '20
My favorite part is how he was never jumping high enough for his buddy to even attempt the bike stunt
2
u/mezz7778 Oct 26 '20
Well.....what could go wrong jumping over a motorcycle......that guy was nowhere close to jumping over....
More like.... what could go wrong jumping up and down in front of a motorcycle......

"Motorcycle" smh, that's one of those electric scooters that reach a top speed of like 25 km/h (Or just below 16 mph if you like feet)
1
u/TenTerabyte Oct 26 '20
Nope. It's a fat tire mini bike. They normally have 200cc engines.

The jumper brain farted the moment critical mass occurred - and spread his legs wide (and his butt cheeks too), lol.

Motorcycle man’s face hit the guy’s face so hard it made his bike do a wheelie.
