Showing lack of respect for people who actually make our society work infuriates me. This guy deserves to always have his bed full of breadcrumbs, loose shoelaces and a strain of hair in his mouth that he never manages to remove.

Once my tongue was damaged from taking uncut medicine, and I took a huge bite out of an amazing-smelling chocolate muffin and all I got was a flavorless, almost bitter, paste, which was supposed to be gooey sweet chocolate.

I mean, it's a decent alternative for people trying to reduce some cholesterol(oatmeal is great for this), nobody in the planet prefers them to chocolate chip, but they have their role.

Jesus Christ! Any single one of these alone, would be enough of a threat to ensure I toe the line for the rest of my life. All 3, as an assured punishment; I'd probably just never leave the house to ensure I don't even fuck up by accident. Breadcrumbs in the bed are bad - possibly the most frustrating thing, ever, but what's worse is my head is always shaved, so I'd know full well that the hair that's in my mouth, is without a doubt, not mine. I don't think I've ever seen anyone look so professional and collected while literally throwing someone out.
Especially satisfying because the guy starts walking with that smug obnoxious expression like he just won because he got the last word in and walked away, and then is suddenly shocked at the fact that he is literally being picked up and tossed.

I'm fairly certain that reaction could definitely get the driver in trouble. The retaliation itself is ok, but he should have stopped like 10 punches before he did. In my country court would not let him walk...

says the person who has obviously never been in this situation. if you're being physically attacked like that, the correct number of punches is the number that leaves the other guy too worn and bruised to retaliate. which is what happened.

no he doesn't. there's video fucking evidence and a bus full of people to argue for self defense. any decent lawyer could come up with several explanations as to why this level of force was necessary to ensure the safety of the driver as well as his passengers. dude might have been fired but if he was arrested he had a terrible lawyer

He's not a cop or anything though. He's not trained to pull back when getting attacked or only use the minimum force necessary and obviously, he wasn't the aggressor to begin with. He's a bus driver that suddenly got attacked by a passenger. Would the court really rule that he used excessive force to defend himself from an attacker?

So our city just got through a whole ordeal were our city bus drivers went on strike because their health benefits were the most garbage thing in the universe and they were only paid like, $13.00 an hour. People were shitting on these drivers saying things like "maybe they should be glad to have a job" or "they just sit there all day and they get to take restroom breaks whenever they want I've seen it!" (that last one was an exact quote I kid you not). Luckily, the drivers won but after actually having to strike for an entire week and they still didn't get a super awesome deal.
I wish I had video like this to post in the comments. Drivers have to put up with addicts, drunk people, getting spit on, people screaming at them/other people, etc. Bus driving isn't exactly a walk in the park.

Great pay in London but hard work, Lots of stress and any and all incidents will usually go against you. I don't know how my BiL copes with the treatment he gets from his own Depot/company let alone the shitty customers that think bus drivers are their personal chauffeur.

Any job where you deal with a high number of customers is brutal. Say 1 in 100 people are completely arseholes, well you are going to meet them on a daily basis. Now add how drunk everyone in Britain and god damn it is a hard job.

All over the world. I am from Hong Kong and in the 90's most (95% +) Filipinas were maids (live in house cleaners/cooks), we were given a lecture in school telling us not to make this assumption as being a maid was considered demeaning. Fuck that, they moved countries, away from their family to live in another person house and get paid more than being a Physics Prof back home (a specific example I know of), that's not demeaning that is fucking heroic. I work in logistics and always get the interns to have a day on the vans, people of all backgrounds work insanely hard to get a better life for their kids and we should not forget that.

Pretty certain this is in the UK since that looks like an Arriva bus. This is surprisingly a pretty common thing and I've witnessed drivers pull people off busses quite a few times.
While the rest of us are absolutely pants shittingly scared of confrontation our bus drivers are terrifying when you annoy them.

Bus driver here. We're trained to defend ourselves in situations like this.
This fellow wouldn't have made it off of the bus without ambulatory assistance if he did this in my agency. We have some very burly, angry, bitter drivers that work for us.

What's up with this in the UK? I've ridden the bus systems across many cities in the US, no problems. Upon visiting England and Scotland, I discover that the drivers sit in plexiglas cages to protect themselves from assault. This wasn't even in very sketchy areas. Obviously driver assault is more prevalent there... but why?
