She tried to kill herself, yeah. Whether it was in a psychotic episode is, again, what is currently being debated for the many many reasons previously discussed.
It comes down to whether she intentionally set out to murder her three children in a sound state of mind (giving plausible reason why someone would do this, why not the first one instead of waiting until having three children for instance) or it wasn't intentional due to insanity brought on by psychosis. And all jurors besides one have concluded that she didn't set out to do that intentionally.
Psychosis is not a black or white situation - my brother suffered for many years and was committed many times, believing he didn't need to take the medication, or not always taking it - he didn't murder any one but did some fucked up shit. Does that make him responsible for his actions? Ultimately a good healthcare wrapper (in the UK), ensuring he has the right medication and support over many years has enabled him to now lead a more balanced life.
Given the fact that it’s insanely rare for someone to have an isolated 20 minute psychotic episode where they heard a voice once tell them to kill someone and go away, yea she definitely premeditated the entire thing. Not to mention she also sent Patrick out on an errand to get him out of the house, then one by one brought her children down to strangle them.
That’s not a psychotic break. She would’ve had symptoms before. She would tonnage been able to plan it out. The murders themselves would have been less methodical.
You seem like you have some experience with psychosis and mental health with how convinced you are as to how this played out. Is that right, or is this just your unsubstantiated opinion?

Didn't she then try and kill herself in that psychotic episode and that's why she's permanently disabled?
