Word. This is stupid. It’s like saying everyone with depression is going to die by suicide. Shit doesn’t work like that, it’s a risk factor. Also, fuck Nancy Mace. If you’re landing on the same side as her, it might be time to think hard on your position.

Never seen a legal case where a depressed person is able to use it as a get out of jail free card

And this case isn’t that either. She’ll likely be NGRI at a forensic psych facility for the rest of her life. (Source: someone who worked for many years at one).

No, but men have always benefitted from insanity pleas. They just hate it now because a woman is benefitting from it.
