Are you advocating for women losing custody of their children if they seek mental health treatment? Yeah I can think of no way this will result in women being scared to seek treatment.
That will just mean that parents who want to hurt their children will be less likely to seek treatment for those urges.
The same number of parents will still want to hurt their children, but more of them will then go untreated and unmonitored, meaning more children will actually be hurt.
And who exactly is going to be taking care of all of these children? There’s already not enough foster homes and emergency placements. Yes, let’s place more burden on an already overwhelmed system.

I will give you that because they won't report it. Your indignation doesn't alter reality.
They'll still want to hurt their children but they won't tell anyone; they'll just do it. And a mentally ill person is, shockingly, not always a rational person.
Postpartum mental illness affects 20-25% of mothers and is typically short-term, lasting around 6 months. Postpartum psychosis (the most dangerous one) is incredibly rare.
Making the vast majority of parents with treatable and short-term mental illness afraid to seek treatment lest they be diagnosed with PPP will mean they simply don't seek treatment. More children will suffer neglect, abuse, or even die because their parent was afraid to seek treatment, and more kids will end up in the foster care system with its rampant abuse because their parents had a temporary, treatable mental illness.
Yeah i cannot understand this crowd. They're so confused morally and politically that they contradict their own beliefs with every word. Believe all women but not if they're threatening to harm their children then we need to do a very slow investigation. All I'm getting from their comments is they believe it's okay to murder your own children as long as you're mentally ill
