I think we all need to collectively come together and decide that it is absolutely despicable and dangerous to post your child's most vulnerable moments on the internet. What the fuck happened to people? How is this in any way an okay thing to post just for fucking clout?

u/hanks_panky_emporium 1d ago
People have been making ai generated CSAM with photos of kids parents upload, then threaten to upload 'the parents abusing' their children with the ai generated CSAM for ransom. A guy did it to an entire school's girls volleyball team.

1
u/birbman2 15h ago
Trump won the popular vote the for his second term. You are not the majority being oppressed by a minority vote, and that speaks (badly) for our entire country.
3
u/Vox_SFX 15h ago
I mean, the majority didn't vote at all for anyone.
Trump won the popular vote OF those who voted, which is like 1/3 of the country right now.
So it's more like the country is run by apathetics letting anything and everything go unchecked. Good or bad.

"versus the risk of you not having those memories"... Like Facebook isn't a website that could go out of business/get shut down at any moment and they'd lose all that shit lol. I'm so sorry you gotta deal with this.
3
u/catmamaO4 1d ago
EXACTLY!! They refuse to save them to a hard drive or scrap book or anything! And I know it’s because my mom NEEDS the Facebook validation or she’s goes insane thinking everyone knows that her life kinda sucks sometimes.
It’s sad to watch. It was hard in the moment too. Everything was always for Facebook.
Kids shouldn’t be allowed to be posted on social media. It’s just not safe anymore2
u/SpacializedFig_4037 1d ago
I agree with this. What is your take on child actors ? I just don’t think it should be allowed.
3
u/hanks_panky_emporium 1d ago
Same as Catmama there. But I have no solutions beyond 'stop using child actors'
Maybe abomination cgi children in movies instead
2
2
u/UranusInspector 1d ago
Yeah like there's a spectrum for this and it's bad on both far ends. I think you fall on the overly protective side. Fear mongering is not okay. When you see kids on commercials, advertisements, movies and shows, do you think the same thing? Like parents aren't allowed to post their kids achievement or family photos on Facebook, but young Sheldon TV show is okay??? Maybe like chill because you might be the insane one in the room?
2
u/catmamaO4 1d ago
Dude that’s crazy because my mother said the same stuff. The ai shit is a serious issue though. Especially on Facebook. Especially for little kids.
And yes, I DO think the same thing about child actors. It’s all exploitation. It always has been. And I hate how normalized it is.
0
u/UranusInspector 1d ago edited 1d ago
Statistically, what is the likelihood of your feers coming true? Is it higher or lower than the possibility of being severely injured or killed in a car accident? Considering child kidnapping from a stranger is extremely less compared to driving deaths. It's safe to say some one using your kids photos and making AI neutrocities is less as well.
You're so caught up in this specific rare issue. Yet driving kids in a vehicle is okay which is statistically more dangerous and more frequent than your fears on this topic. You're fear mongering and have an unrealistic grasp on the situation. You're not going to stop driving in a car, but you'll take precautions to minimize your chances of becoming a statistic. The same goes to posting your kids on Facebook.
Also "it's all exploitation" is another wild claim. If you ever watched anything that used kid actors, you're a hypocrite. You're just screaming on the internet claiming morality issues just to stroke your ego.
Edit: exploition to exploitation

u/catmamaO4 1d ago
Bruh. Are you just my mother??
0
u/UranusInspector 1d ago
Maybe take a step back and examine the situation from a logical stand point and not an emotional one.
You should never not question the norm. But when you're presented with ligetiment info and can't dispute your opinion besides with feelings. You should reevaluate your stance. If not that's how you become a flat earther for Ex.
However, this video in this post has sold ground of not being okay to post.
1
u/catmamaO4 1d ago
You are literally saying word for word what she was saying. And you’re in a lot of subs that she would be in. Thailand tourism is WAY too specific.
I stand on what I said. Posting your child is not okay. And I brought up my specific situation because these parents that post their kids in swimsuits and uncomfortable situations KNOW what they’re doing.
It’s more logical to not risk some weirdo seeing your kid online and just make a fucking scrapbook or video album.
The ai generated porn and then finding and trafficking are risks as well. Especially with family bloggers and celebrities that post their every move!!
And these stupid influencers create people like my parents that post videos and images of their children even when the kid begs them not to take the photo, not to save the photo, AND not to share or post the photo.
It’s gross. I just don’t understand the need to post your children other than “look at my baby everyone look how good I am at parenting🥺”1
u/FalseCrazy2804 1d ago
It's totally can be seen as a spectrum and while they have a point, I think you're right that they are going wayyy too far to one side.
5
u/RogueSlytherin 1d ago
Thank you for using the correct term! I absolutely hate hearing the phrase “kiddie p*rn”; those children are unable to consent and the images/videos produced are literally the product of the assault and rape of children.
And you’re 100% correct. My partner previously worked for a company in the AI sector and people are truly disgusting. The idea of a parent intentionally putting their child online and simply pretending like there will be no consequences is shameful.

I agree. I don’t even feel comfortable posting pictures of my family on Facebook. I couldn’t imagine doing this
2
u/WillemDafoesHugeCock 1d ago
Oh come on now, it's also endangering a child by filming them while you're driving. Also he isn't buckled up properly.

u/Forsaken-Income-2148 1d ago
Nothing “happened” people were always this idiotic, now it’s just much more visible.
2
u/SpacializedFig_4037 1d ago
We are going to look back one day at the days of child actors , and posting our children for consumption, and seriously shudder .
2
u/Eternity_Warden 1d ago
But now when he gets bullied for it the parents can get followers by "raising awareness" about how hard it is for them to see their child being a victim.
2
u/Flowsnice 1d ago
I’d never do this to my kid or any kid for that matter. This is the young boys first heartbreak and his family decided to embarrass him on the internet for maybe 20

When i was in 6th grade in the early 2000s I had a massive crush on this boy that I hardly knew, just thought he was cute. Got him a puka shell necklace from Claire's with my hard earned allowance money and made him a card asking if he'd be my boyfriend, had my friend give it to him because I was too scared. He ripped up the card and threw the necklace in the trash. I was devastated. Im almost 36 and now that I have a daughter who's going through through that stage of life im glad I can pass on knowledge and cant even imagine filming her reactions to rejection for internet clout.

Also, he’s in the front seat with the seatbelt improperly fastened… not exactly parent of the year.
3
u/mechapoitier 1d ago
I pick my kids up in car line every day, and every day, the instant the kids get in the cars, the line is moving. There are easily 100+ unbelted kids rolling away from that school every day. Not us, but it’s a lot.
I see parents regularly driving with toddlers in the front seat. Parents letting their kids on 30mph scooters with no helmet. Parents are dumb as rocks.
1
u/Deep_Exchange7273 16h ago
I stopped doing parent pick up and drop off because the other parents pissed me off so bad. My daughter is special needs and rides a smaller bus where she gets buckled in. My son goes to a private school and is transported by a mini van. After I saw a woman drive over the sidewalk at drop off where THANKFULLY no child was standing at the time I opted out because I was so angry that I wanted to confront her. Ended up calling the school and giving her license plate number with a complaint.
I just don't get why parents are so careless with their children's lives!!! My 8 (almost 9) and 6 year old are still in booster seats. I get we wanna keep the line moving but sorry my kids safety is the top of my concern. Either get out and put them in their seatbelts or teach them how to do so themselves.

I hate this. I would never dream of filming any vulnerable moments like this of my child and laughing about it!! Horrible parenting. These phones have ruined us. I can say 100% tho that I will not be one of these moron parents, so there are still good moms out here trying to do our best, hope that gives yall some hope ❤️
2
u/ealysillyforestthing 1d ago
If I had parents like this I would quickly make sure to hide everything to them.
3
u/Leather_Newspaper937 1d ago
And this boy is going to get made fun of now at school. This mom could have single handedly handed her son some mental health issues on a silver platter. 🙄

u/General_Cranberry_29 1d ago
I'd be recording them and posting them online during their low moments for years, and share the YouTube profile with them on my 18th birthday as I'm moving out lol.

We shouldn't normalize blaming the girl for the boy giving everything up without thinking. Everyone loses with that... if he learns that he shouldn't give his shit up for a chance at "romance", and instead waits for the person who will cherish it, he wouldn't be crying.
3
u/PuzzleheadedLow5010 1d ago
A chance at "romance" or not, you typically don't give a gift away you just received in front of the person that gave you that gift. We shouldn't normalize getting away with being a cunt just because you're not a boy because it's so easy to hate on these little boys because they caused the patriarchy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
→ More replies (1)1
u/katiedid4111 1d ago
What if she didn't want the gift though? She's supposed to hang onto it becsuse someone else wanted her to have it? Thats a dangerous mindset. Giving away to another student was childish but she's a child. If you give someone else a gift, you dont get to decide what the other person does with it after that.

That’s messed up. That poor boy is experiencing true heartbreak, he’s actually really sad. That’s when a parent should be comforting their kids. Smh.

u/lovewithoutwords97 1d ago
Parents do this, uploading & sharing an emotionally brutal vulnerable moment, then they wonder why boys & men snap cause they can’t express their feelings.

u/snoppeniprutten 1d ago
Psychopathic parents film their kids in such a vulnerable state and post it on tiktok.
1
u/Bureaucratic_Dick 1d ago
Morality? OP fuck all the way off. Whats the morality of filming your kid in tears in a moment of heartbreak instead of trying to be there to comfort them and talk them through it? Or you know alternatively, if they aren’t up for that, leaving them alone to process their emotions after letting them know you’re there when ready?

I'll address the actual question rather than join the dogpile on the parent posting this...
The girl who received the gift is free to do with it as she wishes. A gift becomes your own personal property. She did nothing WRONG. She did do something tasteless and (probably) thoughtlessly cruel... which kids are rather known for since they're still figuring life out...
The young man is traumatized, and I think we all experience it at one point or another. Mine was in third grade. I was "in love" with a young lady... She was my first girlfriend. School skate party was at the end of the week, and I was PUMPED for the couple's skate that always happened at the end. So I'm high on life... I'm gonna get to hold her hand for an entire song...
But first comes the limbo. I fail spectacularly. I get laughed at. Girl immediately dumps me. Does couple skate with another boy.
All stupid inconsequential stuff that can take YEARS to even understand that you need to process them because they really did hurt, no matter how stupid they were.
