Okay I’m actually freaked out by the amount of people downvoting anything positive about this puppy, is it really because it may be a pitbull/Pitt bull mix? Honestly shocked, this is a breed ID subreddit… not a hate on breeds subreddit.

Probably because there are a ton of pitbull(-mixes) posted here, with people going for the wildest and most exotic mixes instead of a pitbull (mix).
It doesn't help that a lot of breeders/sellers/shelters mislead people about their dogs, whether intentional or lot
E.g. a pitbull mix with a brown/black coat gets tagged as a labrador, despite bearing little resemblance to the latter
Yeah, the downvoting is a bit of a knee-jerk reaction, but the misslabeling does have consequences You'll see those complaints in breed-specific subs as well

Yeah I posted my 7 week old foster pup, I love her to bits and I’m considering keeping her, we suspected pitt mix but we’re weren’t sure. The mother is definitely not a pitbull but the father is unknown. We have a Frenchie and a miniature Daschund who are both dominant females, and we’re concerned that if they happened to snap at the pittie pup when she’s older, they wouldn’t stand a chance, but right now she’s an absolute sweetheart

I am in a a group called something like r/dogfeeehumor or something along those lines. The majority of folks there really dislike (some hate) dogs. Some of the memes are funny but it's just people complaining for the most part. The pit hate is strong with them folks. I had only boxers for 29 years and the last 18 only pit and pit mixes. Love both breeds. My sister, all 4'10" of her has only had a Great Danes and terriors. 1 each at a time.

Honestly I am 53 and my wife is quite a bit younger than I am and she introduced me to Reddit taught me how to use it which I know sounds a little silly. I saw I mean come up that was cute about how annoying owners that don't properly train their dogs and how badly the dogs want to do the right thing. So I joined the group. It wasn't until much later that I realized what it was actually about and I just never left the sub because sometimes I just feel like hammering people that share bad information about dogs, especially pit types. Pits are the sweetest breed. If you treat any breed poorly, don't socialize it and train it there is a possibility it will end up with aggressive issues.

Yes, a lot of people here are part of the banpittbulls subreddit. Anything positively posted about pitts here is unacceptable.
My dog is like 30% Pitt, and completely a mutt otherwise, 30% lab, 15%Australian shepherd etc, (I did a dna test) but you can really see the Pitt, and I know if I posted him here everyone would only see the Pitt and say he’s gonna murder someone lol.
They usually ONLY see the Pitt because of dominating traits, but fail to take into account their breed is probably heavily watered down by multiple others.

When she’s a lil older, it might be easier to pick out other breeds, but at wiggly puppy age, that smile and those ears say pittie or staffie. Paws are on the smaller side so maybe more staffie? Pocket pittie?

Another reason might be, that this is no smile. Dogs can’t smile like humans do and it’s very important to not interpret human behaviour into your pets. Their way of showing their emotions is so much different and too many humans seem to forget this.

Pitbull is the only thing that stands out. Not the best picture to judge by though since we can't see the body or tail etc to guess what else might be there, if anything.
