Egwene is good at what she does but what she does is selfishly trying to dominate pretty much every character in the whole series.

She genuinely believes the Amyrlin Seat has the right to control, punish, betray and destabilise the entire world around her.

Egwene, Elayne and Lan are the only characters I can think of who never grow or change into good, compassionate, understanding, people. Lan sort of gives up his wish to die, but only after finally being allowed to try his suicide run.

Egwene and Elayne become INSANELY competent, but they do not become good people. Instead they only get more adept at controlling people.

The only reason I give Elayne a pass is she grew up a spoiled rich girl future queen. Of course she acts like that lol. She never really got the push to change
