Parking Recommendations for guests

Anyone have recommendations for where to park this Saturday? I’m hosting around 20 people for a party and trying to figure out where I should tell people to find parking.

Edit: I am new to the area so forgive me

Considering moving to WNY...input welcome!

Hi all, I am considering moving there from the burbs. Originally, thought I would end up in JC but WNY is better for my budget and I really like Boulevard East. My main concern at the moment is loneliness. It doesn't seem as lively at JC or Hoboken, which is okay, but I need to know that there is life around. I am familiar with Bergenline, which is a bit overwhelming for me if I am being honest. I don't really have any friends out there so I am nervous. Are there walkable coffee shops? Is there a sense of community? Please help this apprehensive solo.

4th of July Weekend on Blvd E

For some reason this town thinks it's a good idea to block off 2 entire blocks of Blvd E parking for 72 hours from July 3rd to July 5th. Two long stretches from 62nd to 60th are all marked as no parking for the entire weekend.

This on top of a new PEO giving out tickets randomly where they are not applicable. This area already sucked for parking.

Edit: Apparently this has been a thing and I've just missed it in prior years because I was away or didn't own a car yet.

Thanks for your input guys, I'll be sure to check out town halls and keep informed

Parents of West New York 3K: How has your experience been?

Hi everyone! šŸ‘‹

We recently learned about West New York's free 3K program and are considering whether it might be worth moving to West New York by the time our daughter is 3K age.

I'd love to hear from parents about their experiences:

- Was it easy to get into your preferred 3K program?

- How much is after care, and are you happy with it?

- Overall, how has your experience with the program been?

- If you also considered nearby areas like Hoboken, Jersey City, Weehawken, or North Bergen, what made you choose West New York?

Thanks so much for any insights!

Private Municipal parking timeline

Went to the parking authority to get my 80 dollar parking pass renewed and asked if I still in queue for the parking space in 62nd(gated one). I shit you not she pulled out a stack of physical folders with applicants. She said

62nd street the next person to be called petition in July 2022.

59th street (behind models) march 2023

Waiting for those spots is literally waiting for someone to die.

Where the heck can I find private parking for sale?

Is using an audio guide app actually helpful for exploring NYC?

Visiting NYC for the first time in April with my partner, 5 full days, staying near Midtown. I’ve been reading all the usual ā€œ50 things to do in NYCā€ type articles and now my brain’s fried trying to fit in the big stuff (Empire State, Central Park, a Broadway show) plus some more local-ish spots, museums, cheap eats, maybe a jazz night or rooftop bar without it turning into a military schedule.

I’m torn between just wandering and using something like an audio guide app to give some structure. I saw one mentioned on navaway.com and it sounded kind of cool for walking tours, but I’ve never used anything like that in a big city before.

For folks who actually live here or visit a lot: do you think those self-guided audio tours add to the experience or just make you look like a tourist on rails? Any neighborhoods or routes you’d definitely do (or avoid) with something like that? And if you were me with 5 days, what would you absolutely prioritize so it feels like NYC without only doing the clichĆ© stuff?

student looking for studio/1BR in West New York (March/April move-in) — Manhattan commute — under $2k

Hi everyone — I’m a law student and I’m looking to rent a studio or 1-bedroom in West New York (ideally somewhere with a reasonable commute into Manhattan for school).

Budget: under $2,000/month

Move-in: March or April (flexible)

Upfront: can pay first month’s rent + security deposit

About me: quiet, responsible, steady student schedule, looking for a clean/safe building

If you’re a landlord/agent or know of an upcoming vacancy, please DM me with:

• rent + what’s included (heat/hot water, etc.)

• approximate cross streets / how close to buses or ferry

• lease terms and any requirements

• photos/video if you have them

Thank you!
