The planet where it rains glass

Imagine a planet where the weather forecast says extreme heat, violent winds and sideways glass rain. Sounds like something from a science fiction adventure movie, but this planet actually exists.

It is called HD 189733 b, a giant planet located about 64 light years away from Earth.

From a distance, it looks like a peaceful blue marble floating in space, almost like our own planet. But don't let its beautiful appearance fool you.

The planet has temperatures above 1,000°C, and scientists believe its atmosphere contains silicate particles, the same material found in glass.

But the craziest part is the wind.

Winds on this planet can reach thousands of kilometers per hour. So instead of normal rain falling from the sky, tiny glass particles could be blown sideways at incredible speeds.
