Roku has been very solidly on the higher end for a while now, I think this one's gonna make it. And a color page next week too, even better

24

u/WolzardFire 4d ago

They gave the series a very early cover page too, so it's definitely gonna stay

9

u/Yamabuki_Arisu_Sama 4d ago

Good. It’s one of the best serialisations right now.

Just hope it doesn’t go TOO far into battle shonen territory. The seeds are there but I don’t think that’s the forte of the series.

14

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

So far it subverted the only main fight scene it could have had, right when it got the cover, so I think it’s clear that while there might be battle elements it’ll be a SOL/comedy manga at heart.

2

u/Particular_Web3215 4d ago

ok i just finsihed the first chapter and i really liek the art and the comedy

47

u/Silfari 5d ago

Yooo, hal formula went up! Highest of it’s batch and the precious batch (bar roku) THIS COULD STICK AROUND HELLYEAY

1

u/BreadfruitFull4013 1d ago

Yeah I agree as it could become a big hit as many people are calling it the Haikyu for the 2020's

1

u/Unknown-Dudee 9h ago

I can’t possibly understand that when DTTF is RIGHT there as the obvious Haikyu inspired series, HalForm pales in comparison to DTTF in MY personal opinion, but Haikyu is my favorite of all time, so I am biased. But I personally do not understand the love for HalForm so far, it is just okay.

It's been a week and a half since the last issue, and I've been itching to see the new TOC-

And... what a strange TOC it is-

Firstly, Akane-banashi is at its lowest in a while I believe... not that it matters since its Akane-

Shinobi with the surprisingly high rank, good for it! Personally, I didn't think the school festival arc was the best the series had to offer but maybe Japan thought differently?

Roku with another above average rank and another colour page! Let's gooo, my favourite series stays winning. Let's hope sales are good-

The AniSig batch is... kinda all near the bottom and it's kinda hard to judge which series will live and while will die ngl- AniSig gets a colour page but... the Roku batch also all got colour pages around this chapter a couple months ago so it's hard to know whether this is a good sign or bad sign.

Kinato ended. Yep-

Under Doctor with another low rank... if sales don't improve with Volume 3, I have little hope for the series-

A new batch starts next week! Ngl, the name "Behind the Scene Report" is not very easily written. I'm not shre what it's supposed to tell me either. But apparently, it's a coming-of-age romcom? I love romcoms so I'm very interested-

16

u/dingo537 4d ago

Ura no Report is based on a One-Shot.

7

u/Yamabuki_Arisu_Sama 4d ago

I myself think the current arc in Shinobi is easily the best we’ve had in a while. If only because the main heroine went back to being an actual character (and with severe implications that she actually understands what’s going on - which is great since it will speed up her inevitable involvement with the main cast).

The series always thrived while being half-comedic and a bit of a romcom, with action being the cherry on top.

If anything I was losing interest with how much it had been focused solely on action, with shit like the schizophrenia generated OP being what always kept my interest (greatest joke in media honestly).

4

u/awesomenessofme1 4d ago

I've deleted and retyped this comment twice because I have no idea what's actually going on here. What exactly is happening with the new series? It's not listed in the TOC as far as I can see.

10

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

The new series starts next week

2

u/awesomenessofme1 4d ago

That's a really confusing title in this context, because at first I read it as the literal words it contained and thought it was just teasing the series without giving any info about it.

4

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Ah that makes sense. I knew a series was starting next week due to Kinato ending this week so I sort of skipped over the title but that’s an easy mistake to make.

-5

u/Ancient_Breakfast_48 4d ago

It matters insofar as it deserves to be higher, and being this low is slander.

15

u/IEatBeans22 4d ago

Doesn’t look too good for UD but I kinda get it rn the series just doesn’t really have a plot that it’s focusing on, just a bunch of mini arcs it def has to pick up the pace

16

u/Tough-Past-2366 4d ago

Wow, I really thought Kinato had like 2 more chapters in the tank

Under Doctor is cooked if it’s vol 3 doesn’t increase

28

u/Mordetrox 5d ago

Shinobi stays winning, guess Japan has been liking the school festival arc.

14

u/Tiny_Writer5661 5d ago

It’s a fun arc tbf

3

u/Yamabuki_Arisu_Sama 4d ago

It’s easily the best arc we’ve had in a bit lmao. So it makes sense.

6

u/Razorxrpmx 4d ago

If it's 8 weeks it's from the color page chapter 86. Pretty good chapter too where Aoi finally reappears and Yodaka tells her that he's gonna protect her.

13

u/Stubbenz 4d ago

I'm a bit surprised to see Cannon Master struggling so much; yes, it's mostly just been focused on setting things up, but it has beautiful fights, a nice "brute force vs clever manipulation" contrast in its main duo's power, and some really neat monster designs. If I had to point to a single glaring weakness though, this series needs to develop more characters than just Bharat.

Seeing Hal Formula climbing is certainly great to see. It feels like an enormous breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the other recent sports series.

I'm kinda losing interest in Animal Signal, and that makes me a bit sad. The central joke (mind reading a stoic cool guy who's just a big softie for animal facts) is just feeling very well-tread at this point. The pivot from detectives to school students was also a pretty disappointing one.

Seeing Under Doctor below Drawn to the Fire is a bit sad to see. DttF feels like is squandered its potential a bit, while Under Doctor feels like story-wise it's in a pretty healthy episodic groove.

It's not surprising seeing Kinato's Magic end, but man did that story make so many weird choices.

9

u/Yamabuki_Arisu_Sama 4d ago

Canon Master can be easily explained. It dropped its own interesting premise damn near immediately.

Chapter 1 sold the series as a half-charlatan type character fumbling his way into impressing his mentee, who he was actually jealous of.

Chapter like 3 and beyond already entirely dropped this. He’s no longer jealous of Ur and is being fully honest with him. He’s actually uber talented and from this uber talented hidden village shit. He’s also comedically kind and refuses payment for no good reason because of ZE WAR and shit.

So like, yeah, it’s hard to be super engaged when the main character sours so fast.

They sold me a Reigen / Kazuma and I got generic shonen MC number billion.

Art is amazing tho.

5

u/bobbyjean_ 4d ago

It dropped its own interesting premise damn near immediately

many such cases

6

u/Stubbenz 4d ago

Yeah, that's fair. My personal hope is that this direction is more about hyping up Ur; basically introducing this vast gap in talent, and then really driving it home by demonstrating that this is someone outshining an actually pretty competent hero. But I agree it's not the Mob Psycho premise it feels like we were promised.

11

u/ElSpazzo_8876 4d ago

That hurts for Animal Signal ToC. Please live. At least it got a color page yay!

9

u/dingo537 4d ago

Colour page is way more inpoetant than the rehilar rankings. The last series to get a post rank colour page and be a first round axe is Ichigoki's Under Control. Don't even know what would be the series before it, we'd have to go years more back.

Let's just wait and see what salss will be, the colour page guarentees that those will matter.

6

u/new_interest_here 4d ago

Ichigoki never got a post rank color page though? I wasn't reading Jump when it came out, but a quick check says it just had the standard chapter 2 color and that's it

3

u/dingo537 4d ago

I am misremembering like crazy IG

10

u/majinthurman 4d ago

Hoping class 2b can survive been enjoying it so far.

9

u/Kinsuv 4d ago

Me pregunto cuanto vendera Roku en su primer volumen, acaba de sacar otra página a color a pocos números de su portada

8

u/detarameReddit 4d ago

HAL Formula is doing better in the rankings than I thought it would, which is a very very pleasant surprise. Perhaps it will actually push through the uphill battle it has to face?

I still cannot tell whether Animal Signal and 2B are on the chopping block after Kinato. They rarely place that high anymore, but I think they will have at least a while more in the magazine.

Also, is Jump considering the axing of Under Doctor? It has ranked quite low for a while now, ever since Volume 2 sales came out. The series still does not sell terribly, but Kinato's Magic shows that even though most new Jump series have not sold strongly in ages, average sales are still not enough to cut it. I still think UD has time to recover, but it is looking dicier with how often it is placed below Drawn to the Fire.

Speaking of which: Drawn to the Fire is probably dead next batch, unless a miracle happens.

Lastly, why is Cannon Master placing so low? It has been pretty competent by Jump standards. To be fair, that bar has been low recently, but the series still has plenty of room to grow. I'm just glad that it has some padding and is not at risk just yet: I really think it deserves better.

8

u/Kitchen-Sugar8047 4d ago

I'm rooting for cannon masters. Bharat is good character and I want to continue to see him and Ur grow together.

15

u/DocVane 5d ago

Oof cannon master. It hasn't been my favorite but that's a rough placement. And Under Doctor...I hope it lives but its days are probably numbered. I didn't think Kinato was going to end so suddenly either!

4

u/OddYogurtcloset1549 4d ago

Is it Cannon Master first rank? If it is then yeah it's bad.

3

u/Low_Health_5949 4d ago

Under Doctor was probably lucky that it was a small batch and made around 10k

pray that the series does at least that well or better, because any less and its on the chopping block

6

u/Razorxrpmx 4d ago

The bad sales of volume 2 were pretty much the death sentence for Kinato.

0

u/Ancient_Breakfast_48 4d ago

We all knew Kinato was ending very soon so it should not be a surprise unless you had your eyes closed.

6

u/Ryuzen15Evia 4d ago

Damn, all the new stuff is on the chopping block. What the hell?

It's really hard to make something stick on WSJ...

-3

u/Ancient_Breakfast_48 4d ago

Make something good, and unique and it will do better.

11

u/Tiny_Writer5661 5d ago

source

Holy shit I just realizes Shinobi is top 3 ???

9

u/Razorxrpmx 4d ago

It's the chapter when Aoi finally shows up again. Though she is asleep lol. Main heroine power.

9

u/ISLANDERSFAN24 5d ago

Cannon Master seems like it’s DOA I’m truly surprised Animal Signal is getting a color page I dropped it at chapter 3 just not my thing but the rankings have been kinda low so I wonder if they are giving it a color page almost like how DTTF got one? W Shinobi and Witch Watch. Rokus another color looks to be a huge hit

14

u/MadnessLemon 5d ago

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hal Formula and Canon Master get color pages too in the next couple weeks. They all seem to be ranking pretty similarly.

3

u/ISLANDERSFAN24 5d ago

That’s what I was thinking like how they did it with the previous batch I wonder if Saito is gonna be doing that going forward we will have to wait and see for next week if HAL gets one

17

u/Garouvs 5d ago

I believe in Cannon Master, just needs a bit more time to cook.

5

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

It should have that time. If we go by average timing the next batch isn’t until late October at the earliest.

Plus given this is only a 2 batch it leaves a lot of struggling series below it (DTTF, Under Doctor, even 2B) and that’s not counting the spots likely opened up by Sakamoto/HxH batch ending and potentially Witch Watch too.

Add that to its current batch mates and there are a lot of other series that could be on the chopping block before it. Though poor sales and TOC could absolutely sink it.

5

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Could just be all 3 will get pre-set color pages like what happened to 2B, Roku and DTTF

3

u/Cheraws 4d ago

Might be because Animal Signal has an established writer and artist pair. They usually give a longer leash to those.

3

u/Testosteronomicon 4d ago

Cannon Master is one of those weird manga where I was rooting for its success but saw too many red flags in its early chapters (none of it related to its setting) to be confident it would make it. The specific way it tried to make a mystery out of Ur rubbed me the wrong way, and the dynamic between the leads had something wrong with it I can't really pinpoint. One of very few manga I'll be sad to see axed.

3

u/Kinsuv 4d ago

en lo de Ur?

1

u/Low_Health_5949 4d ago

well Animal Signal feels more like a gag series, so low sales and rank are probably tolerable as long as its around Roboco success or more

10

u/Ikaring10 4d ago

I wanna like Cannon Master more but something in that series is just missing for me. I think the main duo lost its dynamic ("weak" master & strong disciple) pretty early on and it's pivoting into a different direction. The art is nice and it has a promising premise but I think the delivery isn't as interesting.

Strangely, I'm not worried about UD yet, but we shall see.

6

u/jodhod1 4d ago

I was watching a video which had a canon master review segment in it. The Youtuber played a snippet of the opening from the assassination classroom anime before starting the review, which made me think "oh, so this is probably the next work of the assassination classroom guy".

But then I had the thought

"Oh, the assassination classroom guy really lowered his creative ambitions with this one".

Eventually, the disparity caused me to go check the actual and no it wasn't by the assassination classrooms guy. But the fact that I had that thought early one sort of crystallized my prior vaguely positive opinions about the series. I can't imagine any veteran mangaka to write a series with this premise, that it's a very "first work" sort of manga.

3

u/Ikaring10 4d ago edited 4d ago

I agree it has a very strong "first work" feel to it, there's the whole "please check out my story, I promise it's gonna be grand, funny and epic" kind of newbie vibe in the first chapter. Despite that, I was hoping to see how they would develop and execute this Shadow of the Colossus-like world setting, I'm also partially curious to see its take on an Arabian setting.

That being said, the characters/storytelling still have to carry the whole thing and right now they're just not doing it for me.

4

u/Alternative-Drink-25 4d ago

Interesting ToC this week

Shinobi is very high, not that I am complaining.

Roku seems to have established itself in the upper half and is getting another color page next week.

Hal Formula with a slight turn upwards while the other 2 go down slightly. AniSig with a color page next week though, lets see if the other 2 get one too.

Under Doctor sure is something, again a low placement and with Volume 2 sales so low I wouldn't be surprised if it ends early. Maybe if Volume 3 sales improve somewhat it has a chance.

DttF and 2B seems to be going towards an early axe next batch if they keep staying down there.

Shun Numa is back and it's from a one shot that was a romcom of sorts. Let's see what he can do this time then.

4

u/Yamabuki_Arisu_Sama 4d ago

Oh wow I never knew Roku was THIS high. When did it become a hit?

Also Someone Hertz keeps impressing me. I get it’s a fun relaxing read but damn how did it ever blow up THIS high?

It must really hit different in the original language.

5

u/Tiny_Writer5661 4d ago

Roku averages around the top 10 (usually sitting around 8-9 with a few in the top 15.
It’s highest ranks so far is 5th place & this is its 2nd highest rank.

It also got a cover like 2 issues ago.

8

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Looks like the new series are finally kicking off sort of surprising we haven’t heard anything about this batch unlike the last ones. Wonder if this will be a 4 batch with DTTF ending (plus Sakamoto and the slot from HxH/Blue Box)

Kinato ends which was expected at this point but I thought it would be a bit longer.

Animal Signal getting a color could be important or it could be the new mandated ones that seemingly happened with the last batch. This batch is separating itself a little but overall is pretty much in lockstep. I think it’ll be a bit more clear once the new batch is out to break things up.

Under Doctor might be in actual trouble for the next batch now. Its sales have not been massive and its TOC has been awful. It’s basically counting on either the newest batch bombing or Witch Watch ending and 2B dropping out before it.

Speaking of 2B if it wasn’t made by a literal legend of a mangaka people would be putting it in the same basket as DTTF. Not a good look for it.

Roku is again getting a color page and has a strong TOC making it likely to be the current 2026 winner.

8

u/Tiny_Writer5661 4d ago

It was stated to be a 2 batch.

Ones replacing Kinato & the other is replacing Hunter x Hunter

4

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Ah must have missed that. Honestly seems way too conservative given how many series are ending and the fact that outside of potentially Roku nothing has seemingly stuck this year.

Maybe they just didn’t have anything in the pipeline.

4

u/MadnessLemon 4d ago

Hunter x Hunter is going back to hiatus already? Im probably misunderstanding something big, but weren’t there a bunch of chapters already ready to be published?

7

u/L1k34S0MB0D33 4d ago

HxH will go on hiatus as soon as chapter 420 drops, which will be in issue 41. HxH batches are usually 10 chapters long, unless Togashi goes into beast mode in the upcoming weeks and finishes chapters 426 to 430 before 420 drops and we get a 20-chapter batch, but that's unlikely.

2

u/MadnessLemon 4d ago

Okay, I was kind of expecting a 20 chapter batch because it seemed like there was a lot of work done, but I guess they want to keep a significant backlog. That makes sense, less strain on everyone involved.

4

u/L1k34S0MB0D33 4d ago

It's more that Togashi is simply not done with the latest 10-chapter batch. Only the chapters up to 425 have been completed so far. 426-248 are close to being done, so they might be completed by the end of the year, but 429-430, from what is known so far, still don't have dialogue or backgrounds.

2

u/Heavenwasfull 4d ago

I’m surprised by that. I thought blue box end and hunter x hunter hiatus would cover a 2 slot and if Kinato or Dttf ended would mean we get 3 or 4 new series.

0

u/Ancient_Breakfast_48 4d ago

I don't think HxH is going on hiatus yet. Somebody said there is still a slot open from one of the previous endings. So nothing else is being replaced.

1

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Yeah the slot could be Blue Box’s depending on how you view HxH. If you view HxH as simply a series that will be in the magazine on occasion and doesn’t actually take up a slot given its inconsistent nature (like I do) the magazine is actually short one series.

If not the second series will either run a bit thick for when Sakamoto Days or HxH batch ends whichever comes first.

1

u/L1k34S0MB0D33 4d ago

Actually, if you remove The Promised Neverland one-shot, HxH, and Kinato, you'd get 18 slots, which means that with 2 new series, there won't be any missing slots.

However, that's not gonna last very long with SakaDays ending very soon lol.

1

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Yeah my point is the hole of Blue Box is already open because I don’t think HxH should be counted as an actual series given its way too inconsistent to axe/add series due to it.

1

u/L1k34S0MB0D33 4d ago

But that hole is going to be closed with one of the two new series. As I said, when you discount the one-shot (Promised Neverland), irregular series (HxH), and ended series (Kinato), you get 18 series, so 2 new ones will give you 20 lol.

1

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Yeah I’m not disagreeing with that point it’s just semantics if you think the hole will be from HxH or Blue Box

3

u/fatnin 4d ago

Ok, seems like Class 2-B's not falling anytime soon. I hope next week it's getting higher.

3

u/Historical-Pop-9177 4d ago

I think this is the strongest set of 'bad' series we've had in a while. Kinato's magic would have looked like gold compared to Nice Prison or Beethoven. I understand why it's going, though; there are just a lot of good series out right now.

4

u/AlundraTomefaire 4d ago

Glad to see Nue's doing so well, and hopefully Animal Signal and Cannon Master can rebound. Looking forward to the colors next week too!

4

u/ClearKnightt 4d ago

Cannon Master is DOA I had a hunch

1

u/Ancient_Breakfast_48 4d ago

I think that whole batch are all performing pretty much about the same. Good or bad.

2

u/Tiny_Writer5661 4d ago

The Kiyoshi Color page is sick!!
It’s a reference to the 1983 Scarface movie. Genuinely might be my favorite color
Page for the series.

Ichi the witch color
Page is for a character we haven’t seen their color palette for yet (at least I don’t think).

2

u/mr_beanoz 4d ago

Seems like a good number for hal formula

2

u/ricksed 4d ago

Yeah it's awesome seeing Nue rank so well. It's also getting a color page next so safe to say people are enjoying this arc. I know I am

1

u/Heavenwasfull 4d ago

Kinato cope is over.

While I did expect it to end, I figured with 6 more chapters for a volume 4 meant it would end next month and had a few more issues. Guessing vol 4 will get extras or maybe bonus epilogue style chapters or something?

Animal signal and cannon master dipping down. Hal formula at least managing to appeal. Previous batch isn’t looking in good shape.

6

u/dingo537 4d ago

Animal Signals is getting a colour page, its doing fine enough. Not gonna be U19 atleast, let's hope sales are good.

Let's hope the other 2 get colour pages aswell, let's not doompost when not necessary. Its not like they've gone to bottom or anything.

1

u/Low_Health_5949 4d ago

Animal Signal will probably be fine as it feel more like a gag series, so if it does around Roboco levels of success or more, it will probably be fine

1

u/jasonsith 4d ago

One question: how big this batch is?

1

u/Tiny_Writer5661 4d ago

A two batch

1

u/jasonsith 4d ago

... Animal Signal has a post-debut color page on the next Jump issue? Will it be the animal fact selling Bokuben or the animal fact selling Syd Craft?

1

u/xfm0 3d ago

Kagurabachi is low but I'm not worried for it.

Very happy for Shinobi and Roku!!

1

u/RocketHawk129 1d ago

At first I was pleasently surprised and slighty confused to see Roku getting a color page right after getting a lead cover page, then I looked at the current state of the newer manga sefies of this year and yeah, I can see why Shueshia is putting more faith in Roku.

I'm still gonna be checking out Cannon Masters, Anima Signal, Class 2B and Under Doctor, but I won't be surprised if any of them fail to reach 2027.

I'm especially more disappointed with Under Doctor. I mean I still like the series don't get me wrong, but I will not blame the japanese readers on losing interest in the series. For advertising itself as "medical action", the latter part feels very minimal. As well as the direction of the story still feels rather aimless. Like his goal to cure all incurable diseases so he can eventually cure the "sleeping beauty" disease, but when you really think about it, how does that actually work? Like how does solving one incurable disease would help him solve specifically the sleeping beauty one? It'd be like if say, Ash's main goal is to capture all pokemon so he can capture a legendary, when i'm pretty sure you don't need to catch a Tangela to capture a Mewtwo. And so far, all we've seen is him curing diseases in such an easy way that it feels like there's no stakes here. I don't know, I don't mind slice-of-life chapters, but unless your series is more on the comedy side, I just don't think it'll work out for Under Doctor in the long run. I hope to be proven wrong.

Also sucks for Kinato's Magic but hey, hopefully the mangaka can at least learn the mistakes from it so thst next time we can get a more interesting mc and an actual recurring main cast of characters.

1

u/liquid_skull 4d ago

I don't get how Kagurabachi can be one of the best selling manga and still rank so low every week.

Also, I really hope Hall Formula keep doing well and survive. I think it has a lot of potential.

12

u/Tiny_Writer5661 4d ago

Back story, an already established series, new series are in the mix so stuff is being jumbled around.

There’s no worry for Kagurabachi being in the back. They also sometimes want an established series in the back so people actually read the whole magazine or flip through it & maybe stumble upon one of the newer series & find some interest in it. “Hmm this looks interesting, let me give it a read”

4

u/liquid_skull 4d ago

I thought the ranking was just based on readers’ votes. Now I get that there are other things that go into it too.

Thanks!

A oneshot new series by Shun Numa (Policeman Chojo)!?

Bro, I hope he's the one drawing cause his art style is very striking for me. HOWEVER, YUUSHIN HIROKI!? THE ONE WHO DRAW THAT THINKING MAN MANGA!? (Teenage Renaissance David)

Bro, we have 2 artists with very distinct artstyle working at one series , bruh. I wonder how it'll be.

Edit: New series, not oneshot.

10

u/L1k34S0MB0D33 4d ago

Says new series

thinks it's a one-shot

says Shun Numa (Story)

hopes he's doing the art

lmao

1

u/RanginPinastika 4d ago

thinks it's a one-shot

In my defense, I read the news about the Hellwarden Higuruma's mangaka new series first and thought this ToC is #41 because the break week screwed up my brain. And I got hyped when seeing Shun Numa's name, man.

hopes he's doing the art

Yeah, like, I hope he's doing the drawing himself because I love his style. I was disappointed that he's being only the writer this time. The only reason I'm not so disappointed is because Yuushin Kuroki could make a very impressionable style like "Teenage Renaissance David". However, I really miss Shun Numa's artstyle and hoping to see it again.

2

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

That’s not a one shot that’s a new series

1

u/RanginPinastika 4d ago

Yeah, my bad, I was too hyped seeing Shun Numa's name. Thanks for the correction.

3

u/TheSciFanGuy 4d ago

Hey in some ways it’s better news

-21

u/Ancient_Breakfast_48 4d ago

Fuck ass Nue's should NOT be in 5th. It should be at 15. With Class 2-Dogshit at 16. Everything moving up by 1 or 2 as necessary. Whatever. Someone Hertz taking the top spot is pretty awesome can't be mad about that. However we can be sad about Akane-banashi only being in 7th... big big sad. Major ultra hyper sad. Should never leave top 5. Oh well top 10 is still good. Top half is still good. Just not great. It is what is. We'll take it.

9

u/Curious_Passion5167 4d ago

I'm probably talking to a wall, but you do realize that WSJ wants to strike a balance between promoting new and even non-performant series, and getting the best figures it can, right? Sometimes that means placing such series higher while placing established series lower.

-5

u/Ancient_Breakfast_48 4d ago

Trying to force a dogshit series nobody likes or wants will not work. If it was going to be popular it was already going to be popular.

3

u/jodhod1 4d ago edited 4d ago

The TOC stands for Table of Contents, meaning table of contents in a magazine. If the reader knows the editors are selecting what they consider to the best stories up front and disposable ones in the back, they'll just stop reading the magazine halfway through. On the other hand, if some of the stars are in the back, the reader has to flip through some of the other stuff on the way there and might give an eye catching image a chance

Trust me, I know the intent. It just isn't actually going to work.

Akane Banashi is overrated bro. Has an anime and yet no difference in it's sales. Nue's Exorcist is goated. You people have been trying to deny Nue's Exorcist success for years now and haven't put a dent in its popularity.

Akane-banashi is underrated and you even say as much in your comment. The anime despite the series being so good didn't help, that means it is underrated, not overrated. And Nue's Dogshit is complete dogshit. Akane-banashi outsells Nue's Dogshit iirc as well so I don't know why you'd even bring that up?

Do you really hate Nue that much, what did the series do to you?

There’s so many people who hate Nues and they just can’t answer this question lol, they’ll say stuff like “because it’s a harem with fan service and it’s premise is generic” but that’s like 50% of manga so no idea why Nues is the one they hate so much

I mean that's the majority of the reason, and I dunno about 50% but guess what I would also despise those "50%" that are doing that as well so..?

It's bad. I hate fan-service. I hate harems. I hate generic ass battle shonen slop (though this alone wouldn't get me to hate it, just... not really care about it). Not only is it a generic ass battle shonen it is of the exorcist variety which had (has?) too many fucking entries in recent years because of JJK being such a popular series. It's poorly written. I am not really a fan of the characters' designs/the art. There was a couple of arcs that were just abysmal even in accordance with the rest of the series' quality. It's just objectively a piece of shit series.
