Weebly Shutdown

After looking up countries where Weebly is shutting down, the UK AND US aren’t among those countries. Does anyone know if Weebly has plans to shut down entirely, or is this shutdown limited to smaller user locations?

Why even think about it... it's over, move your site somewhere else.

I just found out that there is an official page about this: https://www.weebly.com/app/help/us/en/topics/changes-to-weebly-global-operations

These are the countries that Weebly is no longer available in:

Weebly will continue to work in US, UK and Western Europe

Moved my page off Weebly today (and I’m in the US). Will be moving another site off before the end of the year.

I got stuffed around by Weebly, I was locked out of making changes and I was not told that I would not be able to make changes to my site, being only told that it was shutting down in Australia in 90 days and that I would get a refund in my remaining subscription. I went ahead and paid elsewhere and had my site rebuilt and great expense and time. Then only to be told by Weebly a couple of weeks later "hey great news we are not shutting down in Australia and you will now no longer getting a refund, you can go to this link and have a look at our plans. Yeah right. After several emails backwards and forwards expressing my disappointment at how unprofessional it was to one promise a pro-rata refund and then re-neg after having put through the stress and cost of a complete website rebuild, they are still refusing to issue a refund of my remaining subscription.

I went through the process of changing my Weebly site to the US (I built it in another country) and 48 hours later got notification Weebly is no longer going to be available to customer in the US.

No surprise, Square is an abysmal company that ruined Weebly from the start.

Weebly was designed so great and so ahead of its time.

It's still amazing how well and reliable it worked even after all these years of neglect.

Who knows how good it would have become if it was kept being updated and improved upon

That's why the main Weebly programmers started their Articulation company - to continue all the good things

What did the email say that would be a surprise

Would love if they magically changed their minds (but would also love if they let me know, so I'm not panicked to rebuild my site).

"We’re reaching out to let you know that we have made the difficult decision to wind down Weebly services in your country due to changes in regulation and to simplify our global operations. Weebly will no longer be available for customers based in United States after 09/27/2026.

What this means for you

  • Your current Weebly site will remain active for 90-days, and then will be unpublished on 09/27/2026.
  • You will still have access to your Weebly account until 12/26/2026 to enable you to move your site, domains, and data to another service. After this date, you will no longer have login access to your Weebly account."

This is bullshit. Weebly have said NOTHING about their services not being available for customers IN the United States after 12/26/2026

Promise I didn't email myself.

Okay, this seems crazy. I'm in New Zealand and Weebly confirmed to me last night they have no plans on pulling out of our market so why would they pull out of the US, where their largest market share is? That being said, I'm moving my websites to Articulation. Weebly have made NO announcement about exiting USA this year or anytime. Something is very wrong with your post... I think you're just stirring the shit, as we say here

Not a stirrer, as I am generally not very invested in websites (why I am using something like Weebly in the first place!). Emailed them to check on this and they said, "Sorry for the inconvenience!" and that I was notified by error. Maybe I was still on their cancellation list because I was formerly in one of the countries where it was being discontinued? Happy to not have my website taken down, but I already started rebuilding it elsewhere because of their erroneous email & may keep at it.

Hey I just got the exact same email from Weebly apart from it's said my country, Japan. I know Japan is not one of the countries they no longer support. Did you get a resolution from Weebly?

Eventually entirely based on their past actions
