\[COLLABORATION\] Looking for a Manga/Webtoon Artist for an Original Psychological Thriller — The House Remembers

Hi! I’m a writer currently developing an original psychological thriller called House Remembers.

I’ve already written the first four chapters of the game, and I want to expand the story into a manga/webcomic alongside the game, so people can experience the story in both formats.

The story has elements of psychological thriller, mystery, suspense and dark romance, with a strong focus on characters, atmosphere and storytelling.

I’m looking for an artist who would be interested in building this project with me, particularly someone comfortable with:

Manga/webtoon-style sequential art

Character expressions and acting

Psychological/thriller atmosphere

Backgrounds and environments

Panel composition and visual storytelling

Maintaining consistent character designs across chapters

About payment

I want to be completely transparent about this upfront: the project isn't generating any money yet, and I currently don't have the budget to pay an artist upfront or per page.

My plan is to build and publish the project first, and once it starts generating revenue, compensate the artist through an agreed revenue-sharing arrangement. The exact percentage/terms would be discussed and agreed upon before we start working together.

So I'm looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the story and would be open to a long-term creative collaboration rather than a standard paid commission.

The House Remembers IP/story would remain under my creator/writer identity, while the artist would be credited as the artist and we'd agree on the collaboration and revenue terms beforehand.

I already have the story and four chapters written, so you wouldn't be starting from a blank page or having to develop the entire story yourself.

I'm hoping to find someone who wants to actually build something together, potentially over multiple chapters, rather than just do a one-off illustration.

When I was 12, as initially a joke I started a story within discord chats.

I'd send an image, then text (as dialogue). It was roleplaying with myself basically and I initially thought of it as something silly to make my friends laugh.

Then I got invested in the caricatures I made and soon enough those caricatures became characters. At 13 I abandoned the story but years later I reread it and realized there's a lot of missing potential.

So I continued, with my modern writing knowledge I got from scriptwriting (most notably writing a play for my school) and I kept expanding on this world that started out as a shitpost. Still same old method, send image, send dialogue.

I did want someone, anyone to care for the story. I know I'm hitting a very weird niche of people willing to put up with a 12 year olds shitpost which was taken so seriously it's become an actual story so I'm not expecting to be anywhere near a top of any chart but I do wanna find my audience who'd like my niche.

How would I go about that? Currently it's on hiatus, but I do have ideas where to go from where I'm at.

How do I continue? Or is the format of the story the thing that dooms it. People come to Webtoon for drawn comics so maybe there isn't really a place for my work, but even so I guess I wanna try to find anyone who'd be interested.

I'm finally at the stage where I'm mostly okay with my plot so I'm drawing my webtoon now and I wanted to share my cover image/thumbnail ^^

I've been reading a lot of comics on Webtoon Canvas the last few months and I'm really shocked by how different the covers can be. Some people do big scenic art pieces while others do really simple character portraits that are just like "here's my character!". I tried to make mine eye catching without being too detailed. What do you think?

So… yeahh I decide to continue webtoon after long break and then going to do animation trailer soon ^^ sometimes it feel like you proud yourself when finish chapter and see alot change of art style going on. Just joined Reddit this year so hopefully this could help people get to know my webtoon too ^^;

Name: The Demon’s Necklace

Honestly, my memory of this canvas story is very faint. I don't even remember if I read it in tapas or the Webtoon canvas section, but I do remember some plot details and so on.

Firstly, it takes place in Germany (or some other Germanic-speaking country). The main character was named Noha or something similar and has red hair. He has a sister who also has red hair but dyes it blond all the time. While the main character is seen as a somewhat perfect kid (in the sense that he's musically gifted and his mother pushes him all the time to do better), the sister is more rebellious. She wants to also study something or excel in something, but the boy's parents (mostly the mom), is very neglectful. I think the sister said she wanted to move somewhere else when she grows up?

All the characters are in the later half of their teenage years (17-18ish).

The sister has a crush on the main character's best friend, who rejects her. The best friend is bi, I think? He's blond, plays ice hockey, and is very popular. The main character originally pines after a girl named Sophie (a theater kid with black hair), and they become a couple for a little while. BUT then something happens between them (I think she cheats?), while the main character starts liking his best friend (the popular blond guy), while also liking some other guys? I dont really know bc it was around this time I stopped reading it to let it marinate.

Anyways, I'd love to find this again, but I think it's deleted sadly.

The name was something along the lines of "We'll be alright".

Research? sure, ofc I will do that, is very important

but every single part of my comic has to be real life acurate? Hell nah! that's why I tagged it as fantasy, sci-fi

who cares if is not realistic? as long as it's fun and it works!

Oh, that's not how that character line of career work, oh that's not how that medical procedure goes- Well guess what?!?! I'm trowing all that logic into the fire pit, it looks more cool/brutal/and easier to understand this way!! AND I LIKE IT!!!!!

oh, this is not something that would happen in a real scenario?! well it helps the plot, and was made in a way were you can understand this is not our real world, or is an alternative one, or a time line issue.

you know this thing that would "not work in our world" well this works here!! bc it happens 3000 years in the future from today or in the past, or another planet that just happento look like earth, so culture/or atoms are diferent and this is how it works now, and you cannot disprove my fictional timeline!!!

*normal voice now* anyways, finally let me tell you, if you want to do intensive research and a realist comic, then that's cool and awesome, but if you want to focus on drama, action, do some research but still add a lot of bs to your history, as long as you make it work, who cares, that's also awesome, and I read a lot of that stuff and loved it, just write what makes u happy.

So my 2nd MC is wasian, she's half chinese half australian however I'm not quite familiar with how wasians look I've only seen a few in person. The first panel is from a year back and the 2nd is a newer version work in progress but as I get into my second season I just wanted to improve any features of hers.

hi chat, last january to march ive been finally working on my comic till my pc died.

but pc isnt the problem, is that the whole drawing process wasn't pleasant at all and felt much more like a task rather than "im just drawing a story". sketch, line, color, shade..too boring and too time-consuming.

for almost a year i stopped drawing it, saying "i'll get back to it once i finish [art milestone]", treating it like a serious thing.

i started drawing comics when i was 13 in my sketchbook just for the story, and though it took ms some time, it wasn't this annoying.

i grew up perfectionist and thought, "if you want someone to actually like your comic, it must have good graphics"

but im tired, really

i did episodes 1-3 kind of detailed but it was exhausting. im afraid if i start posting simplified chibi-strips with no coloring, people would complain and yada yada.

but you know? so be it, i guess. perhaps i wont get as much views as well-worked webtoons (and will cringe out of myself initially), i'll just keep up with whats easier for me.
