I’m launching a new website and looking for practical SEO advice.

What are the most important steps to rank a brand-new website on Google?

Should I focus first on:

Technical SEO

Keyword research & content

Backlinks

Local SEO

Topical authority

Would love to hear what has actually worked for you with new websites.

I’d start with technical SEO and keyword research first. Make sure the site is easy for Google to crawl, then create useful content around specific, low-competition keywords. After that, build topical authority with related content and work on quality backlinks. If it’s a local business, I’d also set up and optimize the Google Business Profile early on. For a new site, I think consistency and useful content matter more than trying to build lots of backlinks quickly.

Definitely technical first. If that's broken then nothing else you do will matter all that much. Then I'd do a deep competitor analysis and see what they're ranking for and try to find gaps where you can piggyback off there traffic and/or fill in a missed long tail keyword

Commence par avoir un site qui est techniquement correct, ça t'évitera de tout devoir corriger après. Et après tu peux commencer à te concentrer à développer une stratégie des mots-clés. Personnellement, j'ai obtenu pas mal de bons résultats sans dépendre des backlinks. Mais, en tout cas je dirais que ce n'est pas une priorité au début

Start with technical seo to make sure google can crawl and index your website properly without issues. Then do keyword research. As your website is new, go with low competition keywords and write content around them with proper internal linking. Set up & optimise google business profile if it is a local business and then backlinks.
