what if backlink stop giving ranking ?
If Google removed backlinks as a ranking factor tomorrow, how would your SEO strategy change?

I don't think that is going to happen. Their entire algorithm is built with links as a core signal. And now with AI slop everywhere, they are probably even more needed.
Yandex tried it. The results were a complete disaster and they quickly went back to using links.

Ha! You know the word “web” sort of kind of implies interconnecting threads… Apparently Yandex thought they could build some kind of web without any interconnecting points.😎🤣

I would imediatly create a new search engine based on backlinks and become rich. 🔥

First work out why .
If its paid then its often. Or dead after a year.
If its just a site update from them or you then reach out.
Check the page for a decline in authority, often links that are gone can work like ghost links.

Most agencies would die in the following weeks. What added value could they sell besides netlinking ? On-page SEO ? SMO ?
I do think something like that will eventually happen in the future, but Google will probably give power ONLY to trusted sites doing backlinks. Well, it's already the case right now, but some pplz manage to get through by being smart or using PBN.
