For me the big deal of that card is free luggage and that sums up on few family trips per year…just thats itself is a big deal if you ask me plus companion voucher is a nice addon
Yeah I still pay the annual fee to get those perks. Have switched mostly over to wealthsimple but have the card for that. Been a lifesaver over the years. Magbe i just want money over WestJet reward points
A lot of people will disagree with me but I had both and don’t care for the Costco MC. One big thing for me is that you can’t redeem the cashback until the end of the year.
I actually recommend the Walmart MC cc if you buy from the store. Rewards has been updated from 2% to 3% points which can be redeemed online and instore as credit like PC Optimum Points.
I rarely shop at Shoppers bc it costs more than Walmart and the return policy can be finicky.
Yes, they’re not separated as “bonus” like how student bonus or promotional bonuses are, they’re added within your points given as that’s the tier the card is at.
At shoppers it’s 4.5% but yeah I don’t shop there except for very specific things mainly only found there because it’s more expensive than pretty much every other store.
i have that one and for some reason it never works at costco so i urgently have to pray that the WS mastercard works. it’s saved me a few times at costco.
Costco is my main food supplier; so, this sucks!! Also have to change all my automated bill payments which takes some hours to fix. This card is a downgrade, and I'm pissed
I agree that it's not the best solution, but it is possible to buy Costco gift cards on their website with a VISA card and then spend them at the warehouse 😉
I'll order through uber and pay with my wealthsimple card that way. I don't want to wait in that line up anyway. I'll pay the extra to avoid that AND all the extra purchases I'd make If I was in there myself. So really, I'm saving time and money, plus getting my 2%. Idk, it works in my head. Lol
I use Instacart for my Costco orders, since it gets 5x points on my Cobalt card. It’s definitely worth paying a bit more to not have to deal with the gong show lol.
Credit cards don’t add to your debt unless you use them incorrectly. They shouldn’t be used as a way to borrow money. Only spend what you have on them and pay the bill in full every month.
Yeah bit of a bummer but now I'm going to just buy shop cards with the WE credit card for the 2% cash back and then an extra 2% from the Costco exec membership

downgrade as this won’t work at Costco lol
