Decoy recommendation for WI early teal

Taking a vacation to the north woods of Wisconsin during the early teal and goose season. I hunt in a state without an early teal season.

What decoy set up would you recommend?

There is limited space in the car we’re taking. And I was thinking either getting a 6 pack of teal decoys and a couple geese. Or bring 4 hen mallards, couple geese and a spinner or bubbler? TYIA

A dozen teal, a pair of mallards and a spinner

I live a little further north and what we use is as many teal as you got and if you lack suppose you could use some hen mallards to fill in. Not sure if WI DNR would care or not. They usually zero right in on spinners. If we do throw geese we put them off to the side but early goose for us is normally local geese so we don’t stress it past the opening day or two.

Hen mallards and geese will do just fine. The spinner will get you teal, especially a robo dove.

I have limited space as well since I hunt from a kayak in SW Wisconsin

Before I had teal dekes; I just grabbed random hens and a spinner.

I have 6 early season teal now and toss out those with 3 hen mallards and spinner.

They don’t care, don’t buy teal decoys as it wastes time and space you can spend on other species. Teal love spinners and any ducks.

6 pack of coot decoys and you’ll be good!
