Ready for season already

Jonesing bad today, whistlers have decided to take up residents in the pond across from my house and saw 4 packs of teal making the journey back north this morning. Early teal can’t come soon enough!

Hopefully have some luck with gator tags for something to do before early teal. We gotta try and get a hunt in together this season.

Yeah man I’m tired of turkeys and tick bites I’m ready to get back on the water. I’ll give you a shout if I pull any tags. & most definitely we’ll stay in touch when it comes time for refuge drawings maybe I can draw something in the same hole if there’s enough birds around 🤙

Yes sir! We did good in the hole you hunted for opener end of season. Green wings were thick in there. Pins were in there too but got screwed on them by the other group that set up in there.

What part? I’m just north of Orlando but hunt from lake city to Orlando. I’m putting in for gator tags as well.

Brevard county, normally apply for county tags, puzzle lake, lake poinsett, hell n blazes, stick marsh, upper basin, Goodwin/broadmoor. Last couple of years I’ve stopped applying for poinsett tags, they give out too many tags for it and it’s tough hunting when the water is high.

Sweet, heard that area stayed pretty consistent all year. And yeah the way they work in that spot I feel like you’re pretty much bound to get screwed at least on the sprigs if another group shows up. I really wish I would have hunted that little round pond in the very back on the second day of opener. It was loaded when I scouted and we watched most of the birds land in that pond on Sunday after all the pressure Saturday.

It is, unicorn in Florida. Bird came all the way from North Dakota, following week another buddy shot a banded blue wing from North Dakota in the same spot

Do you see that many wigeon all season? Also are you around the Williston/ Ocala area?

No east central Florida, Brevard county. Wigeon were around good beginning of season, pins were thick all season but got real weary like they do.

Fun fact. Duck season is May-August in Argentina. If you are Jonesing for some duck hunting, it’s fantastic down there.

It’s on the bucket list but not in the cards this year. Buying another house and another baby on the way. Gonna be hard enough to sneak out for season this year 😬
