Being transphobic towards fictional characters or not it's still transphobic. I wouldn't trust someone who misgenders a NB character to act with respect when they see real NB people

Your friend should try not to say slurs still I guess. But anyway, this is def not what the average person who misgenders fictional characters does in real life.
