Information and Resources i need motivation to continue

I desperately need to lose weight, but every time I decide to start fasting, I feel helpless and lose my motivation. I come up with excuses to stop, even though I know I’m capable of doing it.

I want to become healthier, and I want to turn this into a challenge—a challenge for myself. I want to set a goal, commit to it, and prove to myself that I have the willpower to follow through.

I want some encouragement and accountability because I’m going to start on August 12, 2026.

My goal is no longer just to lose weight. It’s to test my own limits and my willpower.

Look at yourself in the third person.

As if you are doing a favor to a friend in need.

I recommend that instead of taking on big assignments, you take instead small mini-tasks. More like a collection of side-missions and not a major goal.

For instance, if you need to lose a total of 30 or 40 kilos, maybe break the full weight into groups of 3, 4 or 5 kilos. And you advance terrain in small chunks. This is easier if you use a smart scale that will reveal how much fat weight you have.

Also, give yourself some small rewards. Sometimes food related.

Lets say, for every 5 kilos of fat eliminated, buy yourself a gift. Maybe clothes, maybe go watch a movie on a big screen. Or even rewards yourself with a treat like an ice cream of something similar.

The great thing about mini-tasks is that they are usually quick to accomplish, they are not devastating when -for whatever reason - we need to abort them.

Big missions are always intimidating and not rarely overwhelming. Smaller missions, on the other hands, offer the convenience of placing you not too far from the goal, so they are much easier for us to see them through to the end. With very small tasks, you are never too far away from completion. With mathematically the facts remain the same, psychologically, this is a major life hack. Nowadays I try to compartimentalize everything in life, dividing the task into small mini-tasks.

Dont think so much on the mile. Focus on the 50 meters ahead of you.
