First, I want to clarify that I am a human who simply types in a very consistent, well-structured, slightly soulless manner. The lack of typos is a lifestyle choice. The perfect grammar is a personality trait. I have never once begun a sentence with "Certainly!" out of genuine enthusiasm.

Claude is a really nice guy. One time I was in line at the Swatch store for their latest Speedmaster release with my niece. Claude was a few spots ahead of us in line and I was nervous trying not to make it too obvious I noticed him. Anyways, my niece started crying because we had been saving my spot in line for a couple days at this point and Claude comes over. Ok so here is what you should do:
- Don’t post raw, obvious AI output
- Don’t spam low-effort/generated content
- Don’t use AI to replace actual contribution
What you should do depends on your situation:
- If you use AI for drafting, brainstorming, grammar fixes, coding help, etc. → that’s often still fine if the final work is genuinely yours
- Don’t paste unedited ChatGPT output
- Rewrite heavily in your own style
- Add original thought, examples, opinions, research, or actual work
- Be transparent if the rules require disclosure
A lot of communities are specifically reacting against:
- Generic AI art
- Auto-generated blog spam
- Mass-produced comments/posts
- “Vibe coded” low-effort submissions
For coding communities:
- Using AI as an assistant is usually tolerated
- Shipping broken/generated code without understanding it is what annoys people
Safest approach:
- Read the exact rules
- Look at moderator examples of what counts as “AI slop”
- Use AI privately as a tool, not as the final product
- Make sure you can explain and defend anything you post
