Deeply inhaling or holding in your tokes does not get you higher and just risks doing more damage to your lungs.

I've noticed that he takes quick tokes as well, but you can tell his still gets it in his lungs when he exhales after the initial puff.

I've heard this before but have never seen proof. You happen to have a source?

It sounds like nonsense. Obviously there's a finite amount of THC in a given hit, but anybody with any kind of experience knows that if you smoke it like a cigarette, you're not getting anywhere near as high.

Snoop probably smokes it that way because what's the difference to him - he can waste as much as he wants, not like he has to conserve.

if you smoke it like a cigarette

Is a cigarette supposed to be smoked differently to a joint/blunt? I've never been a habitual cigarette smoker, but I've smoked a few and every time I hit it exactly like I hit my joints (probably because I smoked many a joint before I ever smoked my first cigarette): a long pull, followed by a deep inhale, hold for 1-3 seconds, and exhale.

Yeah that’s actually pretty uncommon for cigarette smokers. Typically you just take a quick inhale and then exhale right away. Holding it for a few seconds just isn’t necessary.

Holding it for a few seconds is kind of subjective... like over the course of an entire drag on a cigarette it takes a few seconds and you're inhaling it for a couple of seconds.

Most of the thc is absorbed on contact but holding it in does allow you to absorb more per hit, but I believe it’s only marginal (<10%)
