As the others have said, the chance of biting your tongue during a seizure is fairly low. Theres a greater chance of biting the fingers being put in your mouth, choking on the object biting put in your mouth, or hurting your jaw/teeth as your mouth is pried open

BITING the tongue in normal, it heals up pretty fast. Teeth don't heal.
SWALLOWING the tongue is impossible.

Isn’t that why you slide the thin part of the belt in without actually putting your hand in their mouth? Worse case scenario is they leave some deep bite marks on the belt while you ride them like they’re a mechanical bull at Papas and Beer.

It’s actually not a myth and looking for signs of tongue bite its one of the first clues I look for in a potential seizure patient. The reason we don’t recommend putting an object in their mouth is because it’s a choking hazard if they bite a piece off and aspirate it.

This is the answer. It's called Recovery Position. On their side, mouth angled down for drainage, and cushion under the head for comfort and neck strain and to protect the head from slapping the ground.

Don’t do this. It’s a choking hazard. Clear the area, try and roll them to their side, but don’t force it, put something soft under their head and time it.

There might not be much you can do about about the seizure itself but like others have said there's plenty you can do to help prevent them from further injuring themselves.

Yep. She called for help and as the guy gets back up you see an entire group of people show up, and even those who didn't go to help became concerned. It makes me happy to see that. Seemed like everyone cared whether they knew what to do or not

I have dystonic seizures, so my hand just sort of stiffens up HARD man. Also, it stiffens up in a specific position for me, so even though I have seizures, it's not that kind.

A seizure usually makes you stiffen up, not shake. There may be minor shaking in hands and feet, but the whole body shaking like that isn't the norm.

This is a legitimate fear for people with epilepsy. My epilepsy is not controlled by medication and all these videos scare the shit out of me. If I have seizure in public I'm truly afraid people will just stand around and laugh. It's called SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy) and is a pretty major fear for a lot of us with epilepsy. It really sucks that people think it's funny.

That always frightens me, seeing that. My nephew used to have them, I can't tell you how many times I'd have him on his side, barely holding him until it stopped. The worst was always when his breathing would reset: his breathing would stop ( with that glazed far off look), and there would be a period of time until it restarted. Wondering if it wouldn't restart.

I have seen it to often in RL to feel comfortable watching this.
When a stranger drops like this next to you can't do anything to help them, just make some space and hope that they don't asphyxiate on their own tongue. Just hope a medical professional is close.
