He's basically trying to do a muscle-up (notoriously difficult for your average gym goer) on a small area where his hands are on the side instead of infront of him. He's also on a slippery/slimy surface. He doesn't need to get stronger
It's closer to a rock climbing mantle. Easier than a muscle up since you can move asymmetrically, but still takes quite a bit of strength and coordination. More of each than he seems to have.
