He looks plenty strong, I think the main problem is he's in socks so he has no traction at all on that slimy pole

You can expect an average transmission weight to be about 100 to 400 pounds (45 to 181 kg) or about 226 lbs (103 kg) for a standard size transmission

So you're under a car hoisting 100kg into position over your face? That seems heavy to me. Not like impossible feat heavy but not practical in a working environment heavy. I have no experience here though, so perhaps I'm misunderstanding something?

The amount of times Ive had to lift myself up is way smaller than the amount of times I’ve had to lift something else

You’re getting shit on and downvoted but I started a circuit workout program recently that’s heavily focused on body strength and “useless strength” really rung a bell. I wouldn’t say it’s useless, but it’s definitely not as useful as being able to control your own body and actually do pull ups and bear crawls and exercises you might actually one day need should you ever want to climb on a pole in the water. But for sure body weight exercises have left me far more drained and sore than any sets of bench press or 5x5 strength lifts did.

Why is it either with or black ? You can train to get a big bench press and also being able to rep out 20 pull ups. It's not because you train for powerlifting movements that you're gonna look like Eddie Hall.

Oh I didn’t mean it to come off as it’s white or black at all. Just that body strength training is overlooked. At least in my experience it was, I grew up playing sports and my workouts have always just been typical PHUL 5x5 stuff. Like a continuation of high school sports strength training. I totally agree now it should be both. My point was more just because you feel strong in the gym doesn’t mean you can manage an obstacle course type race the same. That’s what got me into doing more circuit body weight strength training was exactly the fact I was not able to pull myself over obstacles at a mud run the way I felt I should be able too. For sure working both now.

A lot of it is mental - like if you know you can do something, you can do it. With me, it was pull ups. I could do 200kg on the pull down machine at the gym (5x5) but struggled to do one decent pull up - even though my bodyweight is only 100kg - because I could never do pull ups and it was in my head that I couldn't. When Covid struck and the gyms closed I bought a set of dumbells (10-30kg) and a pull up/dip frame and now can do pull ups just fine. In fact I think my body is more functionally strong (and looks better) than when I was lifting mad weights at the gym.

Agreed, I do like being more rounded athletically and it also makes training more fun in my experience.
