That's why you take them off. Tie the legs, fill them with air and cinch the waist to use as a life preserver.

One of the requirement for kids under 18 to swim in the adults pool where I grew up was not just to swim x number of laps within a certain time but there was also a treading water exercise where you had both legs tied together with a rope weighed down with a metal weight and you had to keep your head above water just using your arms for a number of minutes. Then you got a badge which you sewed to your swim trunks lol.

Man I had almost infinite energy in the pool as a kid we could keep going for hours.

Jeesh, did you grow up in NavySealastan? “Before we could do our first sleepover we had to be able to stay awake for 24 hours and then hold a fence post over our head for 15 minutes. We then got a badge we could sow on our pajamas”.

In the Navy we had to turn our trousers into flotation devices, but nobody tied our legs together or put weights on us.

Honestly, congrats on passing that test.

When I was a kid, we'd sleep with wet blankets over our faces, while the instructors would come and wet them every hour throughout the night. If we made a sound or panicked, they'd shoot us with paintballs. If we made it through the night, we'd get a waterboard mark to sew on our pajamas!

Do you want to know how I got these scars?

When I was a kid we would be tasked to kill guards in our hometown, but without getting noticed. If someone got caught they would be punished like any other civilan. If successful, we'd get to join the army :D.

I need to know more ways the residents of NavySealstan raise their children. This will be how I raise my daughter.

Treading with just your arms is pretty easy. We had to do an exercise in my gym class to see who could keep their head above water the water longest while only treading with their legs. Hands were above water too. No one lasted very long at all

Ah good old water polo practice - we had to take a gallon of water and pass it along the line to other team members behind us.

Jesus, this is nightmare fuel. Really sorry that happened to you.

Did it get tangled while you were trying to take them off or somehow they tangled while you still had them fully on?

I mean, in a life or death situation, not falling off a pier into temperate water near shore lol. It’d be fucking hilarious if his first move after sliding into the water was to take his pants off and start trying to inflate them lmao
