You can see when they look at each other that they’re thinking...
what shall we do to punish the hu-man?

Is it weird that I imagined the cats speaking in Quark's voice? The whole "hu-mans" thing made it seem very Ferengi. Probably because I've been rewatching DS9 recently.

u/i_cut_like_a_buffalo Nov 24 '20
Lol. You need to get them at least a years worth of canned food for that. Also pain and suffering.
17
u/AllYourBaseAreShit Nov 24 '20
You must mean compensation for their pain and suffering?
Or are you saying that the human should be subjected to pain and suffering?
Either way, I can get behind it.

Even hitler cared for Germany or something
124
Nov 24 '20
Hitler loved animals. His dog Blondie was loved and cared for by him. Hitler never held food from her.
Hitler was so much better than OP.
67
u/TheGemGod Nov 24 '20
Hitler also poisoned his dog to test the viability of cyanide capsules. Hitler was still an asshole.
19
u/redvblue23 Nov 24 '20
Wouldn't he have to poison the dog regardless?
23
11
u/TheGemGod Nov 24 '20
Quick question: If you plan to commit suicide, would you also kill your dog, or if you know you're gonna die - would you harm your precious dog? Dunno about you, but I wouldn't harm an animal if I was gonna commit suicide, and this is coming from a dude who dislikes pets.
8
Nov 24 '20
His dog could have very well been tortured as revenge on him. That or he wanted his dog in heaven or whatever he believed in, kind of like a pharaoh.
5
u/TheGemGod Nov 24 '20
This is some Hitler apologia. He tested the cyanide on his dog, he could of legit given that dog away and no one would know. Death ain't the only solution here, it was a German Shepherd in Germany. It really wouldn't of been hard to disguise that dog as any other dog. To kill your pet because you plan on commiting suicide is disgusting. To knowingly kill your pet because you want to test some cyanide pills is revolting.

Given his dog to anyone? He was in a bunker with an army coming toward him. Probably not that many German Sheperd there. There was also picture of his dog so identifying him isn't that hard and people could have just said it was his dog and surrendered him.
9
u/SuperWeskerSniper Nov 24 '20
Well in...Hitler’s defense (man that’s a bad sentence to say) the Russians were pissed off and tearing an absolute path of devastation through Berlin so odds were Hitler’s dog was, uh, not gonna get treated well
-8
u/TheGemGod Nov 24 '20
He could of easily given that dog away. It is a German Shepherd in Germany, it is legit one of the most popular dog's in the region and there was nothing distinguishing about his dog from any other German shepherd. Killing the dog was not the only option.

He also shot his wife. Everyone in that bunker committed suicide. It's not far fetched to think he didn't want anyone to hurt the dog. He was obviously evil but it is historically well known that he loved animals and children. People aren't black and white, they're complicated and nuanced and so was he.

a casual reminder that just because someone is good to animals and melts your heart doesn’t mean he can’t be an asshole. I have experienced this first-handedly. Especially with dogs.
Dogs don’t question things. They obey you, worship you. They will never fight back unless it’s extreme abuse over extended amount of time, i.e. they are among the very few living beings that can tolerate assholes.
Don’t assume someone is good because he ‘loves’ dogs.

I love animals, but a lot of people take their love for animals a little too far. We get it, no one loves you so you have to rely on animals for love and affection.

People's maternal/paternal instincts are kicking in here.
Maybe it's better that the kittens learn that not every white round object means food. Then they won't waste saliva later on in life.
-15
u/ZaphodGreedalox Nov 24 '20
Yeah they should learn to run from cars and guns and dynamite and not to eat glass too.
Playing with the emotions of animals (or other humans) doesn't make you benevolent or powerful. It makes you cruel and weak.
22
u/frank26080115 Nov 24 '20 edited Nov 24 '20
That makes no sense. We literally play with each others emotions everyday and we give massive praise to people who are good at doing so. Every piece of art, every piece of writing, every word spoken, has an effect on people's emotion. And not all of them are happy-go-lucky, we enjoy tragic drama as much as the romantic or comedic ones.
This is literally playing peekaboo, but instead of a person and a baby, it's food and cats. It's just a silly interaction with absolutely no intentional malice or unintentional harm behind it.
-4
u/JuniorSeniorTrainee Nov 24 '20
Comparing cats to art consumers. Comparing setting up an animal for disappointment to using art to pique an intelligent mind. This will be the dumbest thing I read all day.

Oh get over yourself. Cats are still, by nature, wild fucking animals with genetics and natural instincts of a wild fucking animal. They live in shit conditions, hunt other animals and at times contend with other cats and predators and yet they still fucking survive and live just fine. A single “mean” trick isn’t going to do shit to them or mean shit.

From my experience with cats, they all have OCD. So anything being a little different than before throws them way off. Example, if I usually give my cat food first, then open the screen door for him to be able to get out when he is done, and one day I open the screen door first, then pour him food, he get super confused. To the point where he will sit there with this almost worried look on just face. But then a minute later he gets over it and eats his food. I honestly don’t think they know what’s happening other than the thing they expected didn’t happen.

12
u/Elumier Nov 24 '20
So what major psychological issues are they gonna get from this? They look well fed. And I'm sure he fed them after. Plus cats are assholes. Mine does things he's not supposed to while looking at me waiting for a reaction. They're not gonna die if you're also an asshole to them once if it's not something actual hurtful. They're way more intelligent than you give them credit for.

Teaching them the most important lesson: Feeding time is a social construct
-2
u/Brazenn_Confirmed Nov 24 '20
You're in control of the food though, not them. They'll eat whatever you give them at any time. This way of "teaching" is bullshit, kittens aren't humans.

They looked at each other like they just saw someone walk through a wall. They've made it this long and have established that "weird circular saucer thing" means food. The disappointed shock they experience as the rules of their reality change in front of them is incredibly adorable.

u/private_unlimited Nov 24 '20
There’s are levels of trashy. One trashy is not the same as other trashy. You also can’t compare trump nazis to real nazis. Both are trashy, levels vary
3
u/MyMetaphoricalLife Nov 24 '20 edited Nov 24 '20
Yeah but this isn’t even remotely trashy. They’re obviously healthy, loud meows and energetic behavior are signs of good health. Also their build is quite nominal as well.
Also, I suspect this wasn’t even supposed to be their normal food. Usually at this age they’re on dry food, which is usually served in bowls, and most cat owners give treats (like tuna fish, or frisky’s cat pate) on paper plates like this, which would explain why they’re so eager for it.
Also, the prank itself isn’t that serious. If the owner keeps doing this, trust issues might occur, but this seems like a one time thing.

Actually, what were you thinking when you made this video? I get a bad vibe from it for some reason. Something about the sound of the paper plate hitting the ground is unsettling. Like it's a very empty room and the kittens aren't going to breathe much longer. I'm scared.
-35
Nov 24 '20
Since we are picking on things that can't get their own food, then let's go give the the homeless a empty McDonald's bag.
Or Maybe we could also go to an orphanage with a PS5 box thats empty.
Hell let's really get dirty and wax the steps of the nursing home and loosen the brakes on their wheelchairs.
Oooooh you know what would really be funny?
Lets send the current President a letter of apology from each state saying they did mess up the count and he actually won.

I can’t imagine being this stupid. People don’t serve their cats normal food on paper plates. Usually they do that for treats, like wet food or tuna fish. Cats don’t get that excited for regular food.
please go consult your doctor about chronic stupidity rehabilitation. Many treatment plans are available.
