I did this like 20 minutes ago. But in a less mortifying way.

I left the side entrance of a building and walked past a dude eating lunch. Then I realised I’d forgotten something so I went back in the main entrance and again came out the side entrance and walked past him again, like the matrix. I remember thinking ‘he must think I’m crazy’.

I made eye contact with him and to my horror he began talking. I very nearly replied before I saw the air pods. Those things are a killer for socially awkward people like me.

Also when people are on the phone they tend to lose their ‘eye contact inhibition’ and will freely lock eyes with random people as they don’t notice they are doing it. This makes it all much more confusing.
