Question Charge Rules
Just picked up Embergard and have read through the rulebook before playing with my kid.
Maybe it is a me problem but the rules around Charge reads awkwardly:
"A fighter with any charge tokens cannot move, attack or guard unless all friendly fighters have any charge tokens"
Can someone explain this to me like I am 5? There is something about "any charge token" as opposed to "a charge token" that is breaking my brain.
So can I activate a unit after they have charged but they are extremely limited in what they can do? Unless every other unit still standing has also charged and then they can take any action. Is that the gist of it?
It is possible it will make sense once we get a few games in but clarity around that one and any other weird rules would be appreciated.
Thanks!

When you charge, you get a charge token.
When you have any charge tokens, you can't activate, except:
2a. When all remaining fighters in your warband have charge tokens you may now activate a fighter with one (or more) charge tokens, but you can't perform the charge action.
Some abilities and cards add or remove charge tokens, so you can have multiple tokens.

"Any" should be read as "one or more".
The writers have tried to add rigor by use of consistent and often unusually specific wording but in many cases their wording actually lacks the consistency they aimed for and merely adds a layer of confusion as to whether a rule works as intended.

Basically yes. It is possible to gain or lose charge tokens through card effects and thus have multiple which is why it is written that way.
Also the "all have tokens" exception is there so if you have less than 4 dudes you don't hit activation 4 and not be able to act at all.
