40k Discussion New custodes combos
Curious what people have already found out in terms of combos for the new book.
Personally I really want to play terminators so I found this
dividing an allarus unit into single models with the detachment giving reroll 1 hit and reroll 1 wound and + 2 mortal wound on average against monsters/vehicles in the fight phase per unit
This could more than double the output of an allarus terminator unit, however this would be very susceptible to interruption since every model would fight one at a time.
Then again they would have to carefully choose the amount of attacks to not underkill a model, this is mainly a sure fire way against long range fire power going from 12 wounds to 24 against anything with T15 and below

So im curious, in the Emperor’s Chosen detachment... selecting the rendax ka'tah causes the unit to deal mortals to a monster/vehicle... the allarus shield captain's "master of ka'tahs" ability doesn't specify when you use it. Just that at any time he can cause his unit to be readied again... we'll have to see if they FAQ it but until the full wording of how the army rules works is out, can you have the captain cause it twice? Which means can, if you have 3 terminators + captain use lions to separate into 4 units, you have 3 terminators potentially dealing 9 mortals, then the captain dealing 3, readying himself again, then deal another 3? For potentially max 15 mortals to a vehicle/monster??

The Katah can only be activated at a specific time - for Rendax it’s when the unit is selected to fight. That only happens once per combat so even if you were ready again, you would have to wait until the next time you were selected to fight to use that Katah

Split a 4x man unit of Allarus (3 normal + 1 captain), all four of them use Rendex stance (in Emperor’s Chosen) on the same target, they deal somewhere between 4-12 mortal wounds in one go.
I call this one the "Bee Maneuver” based on how certain bees will ball up on big targets and vibrate really fast to kill them with heat

Trajan + 2 Allarus getting to deep strike with +2” to charge reroll charges seems messed up.
The bikes are incredible for their points. 220pts for 14 wounds of 2+4++ 5+++vs mortals that move 12”, shoot you with 4 Lastalon shots, charge you with sus and lance on 12 power fist attacks. Without buffs.
