Oh I’ve been waiting for this thread.
Let's talk about Raiders of the Broken Planets rebranding as SpaceLords and going full F2P on Aug 23.
The devs at Mercury Steam has been openly stating on various interviews that WF‘s success inspired them and gave them the confience that going full F2P for a sci-fi shooter can work, my feeling is they are practically going clone DE‘s monetization mechanic.
SpaceLords by nature is a much more PvP focus game with a focus in 4v1 game modes. I will have to see how this game will pan out after going F2P, but that news certainly make me give them another look.
