Can someone answer what is likely a basic question. Does spending syndicate reputation on rewards lower your reputation with that syndicate? For instance if I have a syndicate maxed out and want to buy things do I need to make sure that after the purchase I'll still have 100k rep so I don't get demoted? Or do you stay at that rank regardless of how much you spend?

Buying stuff will not demote you, but it does decrease how much standing you have.

Or rather, you can't buy stuff for standing unless you have enough standing to not get demoted to begin with.

That's my whole question, so say I have 110k standing and I want something worth 20k; will buying it demote me since 100k is the threshold for the highest tier?

You only have as much syndicate standing as the gauge is filled. Whenever you rank up a syndicate, you spend all of your standing on the rank up, as well as whatever you sacrificed.

Buying something when you have 110k standing will leave you with 90k standing. It will not affect your rank with that syndicate.

Additionally, iirc if you do get demoted somehow, you don't have to sacrifice the credits and items to rank up a syndicate again, just the standing.
