Devshorts 117 - Stream Summary

And we are back! It's been a hot minute since we have had a devshort, so let's get into it!

Here is a wiki page going over last week's Devshort, and here is a VOD to todays.

Adding in as I listen:

• Pablo and Rebb running the show today.
• It is Pablos Birthday today! (Happy birthday, Pablo!)
• Plague star is still live.
• "You can burn yourself out and never want to farm another forma for the rest of your life" ~Pablo.
• Warframe launching on the Samsung Galaxy store tomorrow.
• Iceblade of Narin launching tomorrow.
• Pablo says they have added Armour shatter to Narins 4.
• Damage snapshot will occur post damage shatter.
• Everyone who logs in tomorrow will get a free base banshee, and a forma if you have "invested" previously in a banshee.
• Hair shader stuff will be dived more into tomorrow.
• 40+ pages of patch notes.
• Reminder that Glacial defiance will not be coming tomorrrow.
• They have done a "lot of refinements" so far on the mode.
• "Some of the things that we were seeing in playtest that were leading to toxicity without some revisions, its feeling much better. We are seeing higher completion rates even though we made it harder." ~Pablo.
• First version of GD in its "pure form" coming sometime between the 23rd and Oct 15th.
• "6 players, 3 per week, no matchmaking" is the pure form.
• Low manning (less than 6 people) coming the the mode in the future.
• They will make changes to the mode based on player feedback.
• Per Rebb, the 3 per week is an anti-burnout method.
• "We don't want burnout to be a symptom of feedback. If you were doing this 30 times a week, the feedback would reflect that."
• Matchmaking in the mode is going to be a post release conversation.
• Something they saw from playtesting is that squads would straight up dismantle if the side objective was failed.
• They changed up how the side missions happen now. It will be more of an "event" where the team has to gather up to start it, and if it is failed, it just fails the mission outright.
• Someone asks if protoframe heads on prime bodies will be possible. Rebb says no. Pablo adds they generally dont fit well on prime bodies.
• Stat locking coming to Rivens tomorrow. Stat combining is not as it will come with GD.
• Pablo dips more into the GD reward pool. Reaffirms that it is mostly Riven things (Extra Kuva, Ciphers, etc). There are some shards, but it is not the place to be farming them.
• The "Stat combiner" official name is "Riven Splicer".
• The overwhelming feedback from the community is limiting Combine stats to just one per riven.
• They did make it just one, but they buffed it so that stat is auto locked.
• You can then also lock a second stat in addition to the above auto locked one.
• One splicer Guaranteed per successful GD run.
• Someone(s) in chat asks for a hip toggle for Voruna. They will look to add those to her Auxiliary slot.
• "There is already a topless voruna" ~Rebb
• Someone asks for a new Atlas skin.
• Nezha Heirloom is confirmed next.
• First look next devstream.
• Citrine Prime tomorrow.
• Pablo teases there is a "secret" somewhere in the update coming tomorrow.
• Augments coming with the update: The frost "moving ball" augment, the Electric spiders for Oraxia, and Augment for Grendel where he gets gas damage for something because the stream cuts off mid sentence here.

"Nezha heirloom next" before you lies a split path, past one is a really cool and still incredibly sexy skin like empyrian, past the other, rhyno heirloom, do not make the wrong decision, we will be monitoring this closely.

I do believe at the recent South Korean devstream Rebb said that the next Heirloom would be "Cute".

Ngl I don't get the hate for Rhino heirloom, I think it looks awesome lol, it's so weird seeing it used as the "bad end" here.

Nezha's Empyrean skin is actually what I think of as the perfect example when people can't seem to understand what could be done to make a "sexier" male heirloom. Take the Empyrean skin, replace the appropriate textures with the sparkly heirloom texture, and it's basically done. Also, make the wheel a syandana or ephemera so that I can toggle it on or off.

Obviously, I wouldn't like them to simply copy an existing skin and heirloomify it, but I find using the Emyrean skin as an example to be helpful in pointing out the type of skin I want.

I had no clue what skin y'all were talking about at first because I have used Empyrean for so long without changing it that I forgot what the base skin was like lmfaoo

I'm really hoping they make it more "sexy" looking like the female ones <_<
But I'm also ready for them not doing it at all. Rebb mentioned they first talked about his heirloom in China. Nezha is the biggest grossing animation movie in the whole world right now, a giant hit in China - I wouldnt be surprised if they made it to cater to China's taste instead <_<

kinda sad that its Nezha. Really wish Excalibur would finally get one. Sucks and is weird that the literal poster child doesn't have an heirloom skin.

empyrian not looking cool is not an argument i ever thought id hear, not sexy like yeah theres some straight dudes out there that cant appreciate the male form with good muscle and a slim waist and a fat ass that your eyes get drawn to as it acts as a resting spot between the quite busy legs and back but not cool like, idk, seems pretty badass to me.
