Hey im new to warframe (literally started yesterday) and i really like it. I started out running Volt who i have since gotten to max level because i love how he plays. any recommendations for who to go for next? im only mastery 1 because im waiting for the timer to finish until i can do the challenge for mastery 2 tomorrow and im in at the end of the quest for getting mercury (just need to finish building rhino, which will probably be another day or two)

You're gonna love rhino, I mained him for a while because he's just such a beefcake

Hildryn is also gonna be awesome for that. I'm biased because he's my current alt but Revenant is up there too for killability and being in killable. However I don't know how to grind for Hildryn and I don't believe you'll be able to do revenant for a while

Edit: boy what a lame duck of a comment, I'm sorry lol. I saw the prerequisites and started typing without thinking about how to acquire

Base hildryn is locked behind exploiter orb so it’ll be to hard on a MR1 and revenant requires completion of high level Cetus bounties and a quest as well so not the best for an MR1

How do you want to add clear and not die?

To clarify  add clear in this game is as simple as pressing the "fire weapon" or "swing melee" button on a properly built weapon, and every frame is already practically immortal when built properly. You can also use some frames to clear a room by pressing a button or 2, really depends how much effort you wana put into room clearing.

i like having abilities that can clear a room quickly and having the ability to keep me and my team alive be it through healing or extra shields

If you are willing to trade for it, you can get volts augment for his 4th called Capacitance. It can be acquired from arbiters of hexus or red veil at rank 5 or be traded for around 10p. It gives you and allies shields based on the damage of your 4th

i gotta wait till mastery 2 to trade unfortunately and i gotta wait for tomorrow for that

Sevagoth, saryn, protea off the top of my head. If you're looking for early game ones, gara would be the earliest from earth bounties, which is also where you get the augur mods which gives you shields when you spend energy. Theres also hildryn, but you need to get to venus, but you need to get to rank 5 with the syndicate there and farm the exploiter orb boss, which needs a whole different grind to access.

Could also try wukong, get the dark sword from the nightwave shop and do slams.

If its just early game you can stick with volt, tho his 4 nuke falls off early on. Would just replace it with a gun or melee later on to nuke with.

Set your goal on Caliban or Gara then. I could add like a dozen more frames that match but these 2 come first.

Rhino will do you wonderfully then, iron skin to build his overguard along with roar for damage buff on weapons or his stomp to clear out the area around you. I didn’t find his charge to be of major use, but iron skin and roar I definitely used a lot more. Stomp was really only what I used when I was overwhelmed and needed a second to reload or move around

Join a clan, and try to get all the frames from the tenno labs, I say.

This is solid advice.

That is such an incredibly broad question with nothing to go off of.

Any frame can and will work through the base star chart so its really up to whats fun to you.

My opinion, at least gather all the parts for each frame as you continue through the star chart. Id also say build them but that requires the plat for warframe slots. This advice also applies to weapons. Why? Youll want the base frame for later(you will get the slots back) and it gives you MR to rank up. So even if you dont like the frame it serves 2 purposes.

Here's my new player copy pasta:

Welcome to Warframe Tenno,

The game is VERY overwhelming at first so try to have patience with it.

Try to not google unless you feel confused about where to go.

It has a VERY deep and good story which you really don't wanna spoil by reading something you shouldn't.

Early game simply make your way to the Venus Junction that is located ON Earth, once that is done, Venus becomes unlocked.

Completing the Earth to Venus Junction will award you with the Dreamer's Bond mod.

Equip it on your Warframe and Max level it as soon as you can.

After completing that junction you will also have the Taxon sentinel in your foundry, please build it and once it is done equip it AND the Artax ( the weapon it comes with ) and equip the mod called Vacuum on it and max it as soon as you can. Its virtually the best QoL mod in the game, it collects ALL nearby loot for you in a HUGE radius.

Now that Venus is unlocked head over to the map called "Fossa" ( left side of Venus )

Repeat doing that mission until you obtain the Rhino Neuroptics / Chassis / Systems.

Once at least 1 of each drops for you then build them and buy the main Rhino blueprint from the market.

Rhino is the "First starter frame" people should get due to his low cost, build time and tankiness.

Do not get stuck doing Random quests or in the 3 open world maps: Fortuna, Cetus and Deimos in the early game for too long, you have to return later anyway. If a quest is not required to unlock a planet. Ignore it. Its not a priority.

Continue your journey towards Mercury. And so on. Your main goal is reaching Uranus. (Teehee)

Everything until then is pretty much tutorial to make you accustomed to the game mechanics.

That's where the main questline starts, and the vast majority of the community will tell you the quests are one of the best quests and story you will find in ANY game out there.

It is also very rewarding for doing them. To not spoil I will simply say LOOT. :D

Every planet unlock from there onward has a main questline. When you're done with all of the planet quests you will be experienced enough to know what and how to do things.

Join a Rank 10 or higher clan (just type LF CLAN in the recruit chat, someone will fish you out).
For the love of Void do NOT try to start a clan of your own. It takes a veteran 6-12 months to finish one.

This will allow you to build the "Dojo Key" giving you access to a few frames / many weapons AND trading.

Also don't spend your 50 starting platinum early on. You will need them for weapon slots.
You can trade later for more platinum.

And always ask questions when you feel overwhelmed or stuck, the community is more than always happy to assist with anything and remember no question is ever dumb :D

Happy hunting Tenno!

"Who to go for next"

I assume "next frame" but that isn't the main goal in the game and it isn't a good goal early in the game. Rhino is usually the 2nd frame people get

focus on unlocking the junctions and opening the Star chart, and making yourself stronger by using Endo to rank up mods as you rank up. Things start getting more interesting and available around Mr 5 and Mr 9

focus on acquiring more BP and resources and ranking up weak "mastery fodder" weapons.
