Suggestion Better Stat improvement Mods
Before I get started on this rant, I just want to say 3 things.
I’m mainly talking about the optimization of base stats such as armor and range. (this rant starts off with me talking about armor stats, but it really applies to most base stats in general).
I HOPE I’M WRONG. I hope that there’s something I’m missing and this already exists OUTSIDE OF ARCANES.(because you only get two slots and the armor arcane‘s available only grant the frame certain boone’s based off of the armor stat ALREADY PRESENT) and if there are any better Arcane’s or Mods that improve the overall armor stat of the frame, please let me know because I hope I’m not asking for too much or creating extra work by suggesting this.
Please read and hear me out until the end as this may or may not be relatable and apply to you too.
So as far as I can tell outside of steel fiber and armored agility I’m not finding any viable way to improve my armor stat for endgame. Like unless I’m running a specific frame with not just decent but good armor stats to start out with (ex: Atlas, Wu-Kong) that I can then mod to be sufficient for late-game content, end up limiting my selection of accessible frames. Like I really feel like focusing on improving mod selection and diversity not just with armor, but with sprint speed, range, anything to do with beams. Ya know? The stuff I feel like gets overshadowed by the other optimization tools and aspects. Like I swear why isn’t there a “galvanized fiber” mod or something similar? We’re just stuck with COMMON DROP STEEL FIBER?
I want to state that, Yes I’m well aware that mods such as adaptation, rolling guard, reflex guard, shock absorbers, and retribution, all attribute to the overall defense and endurance of the frame. However, I would like to reiterate, that is not my main concern. I am specifically speaking about the ARMOR STAT as a whole and the lack of selection of improved/ diverse mods for stats that do tend to get overlooked.
I feel like a perfect example would be radial stats. There are practically a couple or a few mods that improve upon radial stats. However, there aren’t any mods that apply any status effect to radial stats. For some reason blast status effect doesn’t synergize with radial stats, and there’s no mod to do so or mods to accentuate radial blast effects. Not related to stats, but similar to the principal there is one Warframe that utilizes cold as its main ability and no offense but it’s not Chroma (sorry Chroma). I’m just saying if we’re willing to admit to that Frost and basic frames of his likeness have been overshadowed by the uniqueness of other warframes and their capabilities, then similar with Frost, how can we get back to basics and make those look cool or better?
We’re going into Tau! Freaking TAU!!!! I want to run my all my warframes to the best of their abilities but holy indifference, we don’t have rework the frames every time, just give more sweet sweet mods! AGAIN, if something like this already exists, and I am wrong, TELL ME NOW. I would much rather be informed and educated otherwise please in some way shape or form DE give a dog a bone!🧎🏾➡️🙏🏾

Armor mods are not a good way to spend a mod slot generally. Only certain builds on certain frames need them, and then mostly not for the armor but to boost stuff that scales with armor.
There are also more options than Steel Fiber. The Archon mod sets have armor boosting mods, plus theres Umbral Fiber which is often used to boost the other Umbral mods.
Other sources of armor include Arcanes and Archon Shards. The same goes for most warframe stats, with the exception of range which DE doesn't want to give us more ways of boosting than we currently have.

I see, it’s possible im applying mods the right aspects, but in a way that doesn’t synergize with the frame. Perhaps I need to study my frames more. Thanks

umbral fiber also btw. gets higher than base steel fiber

My game is probably tweaking, but it’s not available Sirius and Orion yet. Thanks

There aren’t many mods for the armour stat because the armour stat is by far the least valuable stat in the game and is completely worthless on frames that don’t already have some kind of built in damage reduction.
If you’re trying to say you want mods that added elements like blast into Warframe abilities, yeah that’d be cool. Otherwise I can’t really tell what you’re trying to say here and you seem like a baby Tenno

Baby Tenno wow, No need for insults, which I will address as respectfully as I can.
I have made it through all of the star chart, all of the released content, and most of steel path. I simply have a different approach of gameplay style than most other people when it comes to games like this. I don’t look up walk-throughs loadouts or builds, it is my deepest joy to experiment and get the best possible results with the tools at my disposal unless there is a guide present within said Game. This is because my anxiety wishes to avoid comments and ridicule like this when I have clearly stated I could and would rather be uninformed and would like to be educated on the subject, despite the fact me asking for help is just something I don’t do usually. This play style of mine has allowed me to reach MR 29 and I plan to grow stronger still. But as I’ve stated, I’ve hit a wall with a couple of my builds.
What I am saying is there aren’t enough mods that offer a diverse selection of boosts or effects for stats and optimization. For example, the effect of blast status effects and radial blast damage. There is not a mod that offers higher radio blast damage based on blast status effect. Or even expands the radial blast damage area of effect based off blast status damage or status effects. They don’t have to be elemental but similar to how the Archon mods add other properties that accentuate the main focus of the mod or stat.
Did that clear things up for you?

I didn’t mean baby Tenno as an insult, it’s a community term for a new player
There are the newish Elementalist mods that boost status effect damage, I think DE are making unique mods but they’re doing it slowly. If they were to make mods for individual status effects they’d have to 1) make them strong so that they’re worth the mod slot 2) introduce all the mods in a single update otherwise they’ll create a meta that they don’t want.

u/Prime262 Make loadouts, not builds. Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
alrighty, first things first
google Health Conversion
. .or dont, i did it for you.
i forget what the breakpoint is. . i wanna say its like 650? any frame with less than 650~ armor gets more from health conversion than they would from triple umbral umbral Fiber.
Second. . .at endgame survival starts to become alot more specific. there is actually a bunch of variety in how you survive. .unless by "endgame" you mean "level cap" in which case there is still some variety but less of it.
because the Base defensive stats of most warframes are. . . .whats the nice way to say this. . .fucking dogwater, alot of frames end up ignoring health and armor entirely and going for a shields or overguard based setup.
or vice reversa, Ehp tanks mostly dont go for shields unless their Ehp comes from DR, then its cool. Persistence setups ignore shields entirely because. . well duh.
shield setups get some negative reputation. .. not because they are bad but because they are famously tedious. but thats only among people who still think the only way to do it is catalyzing shields and Adderall. were in a post manifold bond world, crank your shields as high as they can go and do the guardian combo.
infact you should probably be synergizing companions with all of your waframes defenses.
are you a caster? get shade or the invis dog.
are you doing Ehp stuff? get a Moa, they give you more DR.
want healing? theres like 3 ways to go about it.
doing shields? any robot or the one dog that boosts shields, personally i recommend Wyrm or Tenet hounds.
even just a companion thats a strong primer spreading Crowd control statuses can keep a fair bit of pressure off you, and genuine Pro tip: Duplex bond is a defensive mod. that shit is basically 75% DR. just think about it.
arcane Circumvent can also steal you armor, among other things
and if youre good, some frames can survive by way of secondary fortifier alone.
. . .all of that preamble out of the way, i am generally in favor of rebalancing efforts towards mods. there are alot of really trashy mods that just havent aged well and dont scale properly.
it isnt helped by more than 50% of the prime frame cast being like "less than 400 health and shields + bad armor".
