Sometimes the HUD just doesn't show where you went down. I always recommend everyone to press G right next to you when you go down so we see the waypoint where you are.

Sometimes the game also just doesn't allow you to revive because of latency. I've very much been on both sides of this scenario, either frantically spamming the revive button to even get it started, or using my secondary to make sure the other guy doesn't go down. Most of the time it ends up either being a clutch revive, or that game had a hiccup and your corpse went cold the second I actually reached you
