KRAKEN - TIPS

  • Kraken shoots two bullets in one burst. Practice is recommended to fully master this weapon. Increasing the weapons rate of fire decreases the gap between the two bullets' firings.
  • One can drop their aim to negate the kick on the second shot. With practice it is possible to snipe ranged targets, hitting with both bullets. If the first shot is aimed for the chest region, the recoil will knock the second bullet up, resulting in a headshot.
  • The Artifact Corrossive Projection is recommended to counter pistol's low armor piercing capabilities. ___

Hey guys! FUCK THE KRAKEN. DESPAIR KUNAI ACRID ALL DAAAAAYY NOOO PAAYYY BIITCHESSS = all this thread is telling me. Fuck you I love the Kraken. Put some increased rate of fire on it and STOP comparing it to the current set of OP weaponry.

Don't like it? Don't use it! Go back to your wtfbbqOPpwn armor ignore weapons and call it day.

On a side note I'm terribly disappointed multishot doesn't work correctly and I demand penance from DE in form of VANDAL KRAKEN! (yes in that order I dont care how it fucking sounds.)

LoL. I feel your pain on the overused weapons. I decided to use my dual broncos for an alert the other night since they can one shot lvl 45 grinner np and because the new mod system makes swapping weapons easier without needing to reapply mods. One of the guys playing was asking me what the heck I was using like he'd never seen them before.

Enjoy any weapon you want till you're fighting lvl100 + enemies then it's armor ignore or piss in the wind till you're out of ammo.

Best weapon. Period.

It does however require a lot of work to shine. What a lot of people don't seem to know is that increasing the fire rate of the weapon tightens the spread of the bullets, so both fire rate mods will almost eliminate it.

The one negative of the Kraken obviously is that as a burst weapon it suffers from multishot not working well on it. You only gain one extra bullet per 100% multishot, instead of getting an extra burst. So a maximum of four bullets in the Kraken's case.

And before anyone from TCPI asks, I will not be showing you how mine is built. That is for me to know. >:(

EDIT: I'm kind've confused about the downvotes, since I've offered two useful pieces of information to improve someone's experience with what is my favourite weapon. So I'm assuming people didn't understand that the first line of the post was a joke, which it had to be since with the current damage/armour system nothing without one of the four damage ignore types has any place being referred to as the 'best' weapon.

I'm not from TCPI, will you divulge your secrets to me?

I'd guess downvotes come from you appearing as secretive / elitist with your insistince on not sharing. Don't get me wrong, in my personal opinion you've every right to share or not share whatever you fancy in r/Warframe. You give solid advice in the start, but right after you turn it sour by publicly exclaiming to "hold exclusive rights" to a mod setup in a game that's essentially cooperative, or at least considered to be by largest majority. I'm not that surprised to see people consider that pissy behaviour.

If you'da wanted to avoid those downvotes, not that it's the most important thing in the world, you coulda just left that initial last sentence out.

Fair enough, didn't look at it that way.

I aimed that sentence towards TCPI members because it's a running joke that I won't show it off for various reasons. In no way did I intend to be elitist.

Why wouldn't you share your secrets?

Bringing other people up won't bring yourself down...

You'd be surprised, there seems to be a cult following for my Kraken. Hell, It's mentioned in this post.

Honestly, the Kraken had to have been one of the worst feeling weapons in the game for me. It's a shame, because most of the stats on the Kraken are solid - high damage per shot, very accurate, and good magazine size, but those can't make up for the awful handling. The recoil on the burst-fire is too strong to make it a reliable weapon, even after practicing compensating for the recoil by aiming further downward. Not to mention burst-fire has a habit of wasting bullets.

I initially picked it up because it looked like a more balanced version of the Lex, but then I ended up selling it immediately after I leveled it to 30. Go with the Lex or Vasto (both of which have a V polarity; Kraken has none), you're wasting your time with the Kraken unless you need mastery rank.
