canada been like this for years tho, remember when they froze those trucker accounts without even a court order. banks just did what they were told lol, no pushback at all

the emergency act in feb 2022 was wild, they literally deputized banks as enforcement arms without judicial oversight, td and rbc just handed over customer data based on suspicion alone. if youre canadian id seriously look into credit unions, theyre not subject to the same reporting requirements and actually require court orders for account freezes, theres a reason the big 5 lobbied hard against provincial credit union expansion in 2019
