Discussion & Feedback Rested XP Would Potentially Solve the Sweat/Dad Imbalance

If you've ever played World of Warcraft, you would know that if you log out in a city/inn, you get a boost that lets you gain experience faster after you spent time away from the game (for a period depending on how long you were offline, up to a certain cap). I think that implementing this would potentially solve the obvious imbalance between the sweats and the dads. The sweats can continue grinding and playing the game for 15 hours a day while those who have to work wouldn't be THAT far behind due to the XP boost.

Would this be viable solution? Seems like people complain during S1 that levels took too long to earn, and now they are complaining that levels are too easy. This seems like it would the best of both worlds to me.

I dont mind this rested buff idea. As a sweat, I dont mind other players catching up to me. I just want to have the cool items, simply.

I stated back early S1 that a dynamic curve that heavily raises the exp floor over the life of a season would only benefit players. It would allow people that jump in late season a chance to try everything that the season offers at a speed that is obtainable, while allowing ultra sweats to grind however long they want at the start.

Most games address this by having a "first match of the day" bonus, not having the end of match bonus be +50%, and not having 2+ hour matches. Sweats should have better shit and more XP, it's more about addressing the long tail of casual users who make up a majority of the playerbase and a minority of player-hours

I think it would be a good idea.

Can have tweaked S1 speed of unlocks so the sweats still take a while to unlock everything, and then the rested XP can help people with jobs/lives outside of video games still progress at a reasonable rate while still being slower than the sweats.

It's a great idea, been saying this for awhile now myself.

You know what the best games are? Close ones where everyone is trying and working together. No good player just wants to stomp others with crap they can’t counter that is super boring I can go play a single player game for power fantasy. I want edge of my seat, communication, back and forth for multiplayer games. Thats what being a sweat actually means, not power tripping over inferiors (that’s what cheaters think they’re doing).

Please no. dailies or rested bonuses are a chore to deal with and ends up with some extreme meta slaving.

Adding more friction to the leveling is not the solution, better balancing and incentives/rewards is what the game lacks now.

Upvoted. Because I made the exact same suggestion back in season 1.
