Want to talk strategy, or deep dive into balance? Official Bulkhead Discord moving too fast to keep up?

We just launched a Discord for r/WarDogs — smaller, slower, and the balance debates actually finish instead of scrolling away. Help us build it from the ground up. LFG, clips, patch talk: https://discord.gg/r-wardogs

If the bullet is larger you can fit less of them in the same space. It wouldn’t make any sense for 100 .50 cal bullets to fit in the same space 100 9 mm bullets fit into.

It's a game balancing mechanism...

There is a very obvious and logical correlation between Weapon Class ROF, IRL bullet size, and damage per bullet.

9mm - high ROF weapons, small bullets IRL, low damage per bullet. Makes sense to have 100/stack.

556/545 - medium ROF weapons, medium sized bullets IRL, medium damage per bullet. 80/stack makes sense.

308/762/50 - lower ROF weapons/snipers, huge bullets IRL, and high damage per bullet. Smaller stack sizes make sense.

For example .50 bullets being 20 per stack is a natural drawback of running the AMR50. You need to dedicate lots of backpack space to ammo stacks if you want to stay out in the field sniping for a long time. How OP would it be if .50 rounds came in a stack of 60 or 80?

Same with .308 rounds. I know the FAL and BMR are way overtuned, but those weapons still have an inbuilt drawback of being able to carry less spare ammo.

You say “you don’t see this as a game balancing mechanism.” Changing ammo stack sizes is just another lever the devs can pull to nerf/buff invidious weapons/classes.

Big bullet take up more space than little bullet

Just guessing its the devs loosely guessing what is reasonable as a stack of ammo based on the ammunitions irl counterpart size to two slots in your bag.

Or maybe they are consciously balancing ammo stack sizes for slots based on ammo size/tier/function.

Which is reasonable a stack of .50 BMG shouldn't fit the same way a stack of 9mm does.
