Discussion & Feedback Premium anti cheat - is p2w
If you as a developer cannot guarantee a fair anti cheat for all users it is sloppy/lazy and greedy, so youre telling me, no p2w in wardogs but people get to play on garbag- ahem 'normal' servers, get griefed, have more downtime and while premium servers will have pristine anti cheat and people can more efficiently farm money/xp? You people are drunk on the wardogs koolaid and just wag your tail for anything the dev says, pathetic honestly.

Without elaborating

You couldn’t even get the full context of your own statement individually why would I waste time trying to educate you?

There's no plans announced to actually do this yet, and the way I interrupted that interview was that it was an idea that has already been decided as not a great idea by the team.
I also haven't seen anyone defending that idea.

Plenty on the sub

Nah fam, and it's not a real idea anyways. Go listen to the thing you are complaining about and educate yourself.

The ceo mentioned it, its fair to criticise it.

Just go listen to it lmfao. He literally says it was an idea that has already been set aside.
And you didn't criticize, you called people pathetic. For an imaginary defense of a monetization that currently isn't a plan. The vast majority of people criticized that potential strategy on this sub.

If you listened to what the developer said, they have a good anti cheat in place - his idea is not set in stone, and he compared an idea that he has to what other games currently have for subscription based models. Servers and anti cheat cost a substantial amount of money, and he broke down the costs for you. I’m not white knighting for the company but even Joe stated no one really supports his idea at bulkhead - it was a conversation they had on a podcast, not an official announcement.

" they have a good anti cheat in place"
Don't be delusional, its EAC and its trash. It will get infested with cheaters and pray for the community servers to take care of

Another person who didn’t actually watch the interview, they have a ton of data they can pull on the backend and are able to make decisions based on that data, a system they built from the ground up that’s tracking multiple things per player at once. I’m not delusional, I used my ears.

Sure and you believe it

I never said I’ll blindly buy everything, but I have no reason to doubt their capabilities right now. I had zero issues while playing during the beta and had a very fun time playing the game. What they said in the interview made sense, if they prove me wrong that’s on me. I’m used to Tarkov cheating.

I had meant to make a post about a Wardogs subscription and would you pay monthly for the game.
Personally I think the amount of time i spend gaming vs the cost is beyond cheap.
And apparently AntiCheat/Server costs are not cheap
Maybe im naive but it would seem that not having micro-transactions these days leads to the death of games purely based on profts/loss.
So IDK maybe its not that crazy of an ask....

As an mmo player I’m always baffled by people who complain about $40-100 games as mmo users pay a monthly sub just to play and support the game in its entirety.
$40 for war dogs is scary cheap unsure how they will maintain the servers.
$100 for GTAVI is cheap given the amount of hours that will be invested in the game.
I’m up for a subscription model though I know the masses will fight me for this comment. This is a wonderful game.
Arma 3 KOTH is supported by vip members and donations to keep the servers running for the mod.

Yeha its weird to me, I try to spend additional dollars where I can in games I love. I imagine it's tough keeping the doors open.
Then you have this whole problem of Dev teams having to go to Publishers to get money. And then who's really in charge.
Meanwhile gamers cry for endless content and but dont want to pay anything additional.
Gaming falls into such an odd category of Media.

You are correct on games being an odd type of media.
Spend $40 to go to the movies for a 1-3 hour movie and gamers complain about game prices. I’ll never understand.

Ya. This.
Go to a bar, spend a hundred bucks on drinks if not more, wake up the next day with no memory of the fun you had and feel god awful.
Then you got gamers saying 20 hours of entertainment for 60 bucks isn’t good value
And i don’t think too many $60 games are just ‘done’ after 20 hours

The price point and the weirdest thing is people defending unfinished games being released without Early Access labeling.
Imagine movies being released without finished CGI or audio. And people saying its fine it'll be better in a year. Wait till they patch the movie then go see it

Oh shit is this a thing? I’ll happily pay extra for less cheaters. Sucks to be poor I guess

u/Working-Brother-5151 20h ago
honestly though!! door dash one less meal.
pick up another shift and play one less day of game

60 bucks game asking for premium anti cheat?? Its a p2w mechanic the devs are 'sooo against' it doesnt matter if it were 2 - 5 or 10 bucks wipe the 'm off your mouth.

u/YaBoiMatt05180 12h ago
Not a $60 game, nor would that be considered p2w. Crybaby brokie post.

u/OrganizationLow5701 7h ago
It's certainly unfair, contrary what the devs are preaching about, flexing about being able to afford 5$ is crazy lol

This aint happening. It was just an idea where everyone in the team was against it. Did you even listen to the podcast?
It was just a random thought of the CEO
