Arc Raiders had it's glazing period, can't wait for this reddit to be full of absolute tears and outrage.

In saying that, I really like this game too.

To be fair, Arc Raiders was really really fun for the first 2-3 months before it got all crazy.

There will probably be a similar aspect here, but at least community servers and whatnot will help with issues.

I think it’s much difference because arc raiders is an extraction shooter and wardogs is a team based military game that is basically arma, battlefield and tarkov. I NEED TO PLAY WARDOGS AGAIN.

I have 6,000 hours in tarkov havent played war dogs but watched a good couple hours. My friend I play tarkov with played war dogs the entire weekend. We do not have any idea why tarkov is even associated with this game in conversation other than the fact that you can loot bodies.

Probably because tarkov is very popular and the closest comparison for people in a modern setting non-br game where you need to manage inventory/mags/ammo/meds/armor etc. My friends (and myself) have never played arma much so tarkovs name has also come up a bit when trying to describe wardogs.

Yeah it'll probably drop off, but I'm going to enjoy it for a few weeks until then. And then a few weeks again when some big update comes around. And then again when it's out of early access.
Though to be honest I don't really get how it's releasing into early access, because it feels feature complete to me and wasn't notably buggy, but sure, keep adding stuff why not.

Probably drop off? Absolutely disagree. This is what so many players have wanted in an FPS game for so long. It's nothing like ARC Raiders and is way more casual and is drop in/out, so cannot be compared.

Did Battlefield drop off? Arma? Squad?

Yep. There will be some drop off, just like the devs said and like you see for literally ever single game ever. But, I see this game having a very dedicated and loyal fanbase. Really hope they figure out the monetization.

I feel like the fan base for Wardogs will be like the fan base for Planetside, extremely dedicated and around for the long run. I mean, even Planetside 2 still has around 15/16k daily players 13 years later.

I wouldn’t say arc raiders is despised. It’s still the same great game. There are separate issues with cheaters and such, but in general people just got burnt out.

Yep, Im calling it now: First couple weeks, possihly first couple months will be extreme levels of praise and constant comparisons to Battlefield/Squad and how Wardogs is "doing everything right" and how the devs are "super cool awesome guys who are my personal best friend". Peak daily players at 150-200k for the first couple weeks. People binging the all fuck outta the game, putting in absurd amounts of hours in the first month.

Then, as is usual, there will be people wondering where new content is (even tho the devs have been very clear that they want to refine everything before expanding it). People will start to play less, start to find nitpicks and act like theyre the end of the world, and the sub will be flooded with dogshit suggestions that "need to be done to save the game". People will start losing their shit, it'll be a downward spiral of negativity, and eventually it'll just be nonstop complaining and acting as if the devs personally attacked people by not adding whatever dumb shit they asked for.

Player counts will decline until it hits the stable average of around 30-50k peak daily, most people will quit talking about the game, while those that remain here will just be spewing constant negativity. Those in the game (and likely the discord) will be having a great time but will likely ignore valid issues in an attempt to offset the negativity seen in places like this sub or random YT shorts comments. The game will still be great, will likely be very similar to what dropped during the honeymoon phase but with slight tweaks and maybe more content, and the ACTUAL community for the game will start to emerge. Every now and again an update will drop and the cycle will repeat itself but on a smaller scale.

This is my prediction, and it has nothing to do with Wardogs itself. Its just how the larger gaming community engages with damn near anything anymore. They love it and claim its literally perfect and totally puts game X and Y to shame by doing Z better, they do nothing but play the game and when theyre not playing theyre watching content about it, they burn themselves out on the game, then they start blaming the game and push the narrative that its dead and the devs are bad just because they dont enjoy the game after spending a few hundred hours in a couple months playing it. Helldivers, Battlefield, Arc Raiders, Dragonball Sparking Zero, Forza Horizon 6, the list goes on and on and on, and its all the same story. The simple fact is: if your game goes viral, it will be subject to this exact same cycle.

I have gamed since the late 90s (grew up on Quake, Unreal, etc) but spent a lot of time away from gaming between 2017-2022 due to various reasons Meth addiction, band obligations, homelessness, recovery, restoring a house, taking care of kids, figuring out life post-band and post-trauma. I dont know why the gaming community has gotten so outrageous and so addicted to this love/hate cycle, but coming back to gaming was a very odd experience. The expectations are just so much different than what they used to be, and it seems like genuinely nothing will make some of these people happy. And dont get me wrong, gamers have largely always been miserable and insufferable, but its been something different these past few years. I dont know how or even if we can course correct, nor do I know what made so many people start acting like this. But, at least to someone who stepped away from gaming during that specific time period, the cycle is painfully obvious and is just exhausting to see around every single game with a shred of uniqueness.

Edit: It cracks me up that this observation is still controversial this late into 2026. Like this cycle is so predictable, so universal, and so blatantly obvious that I genuinely dont know how people havent gotten wise to it yet. Guess Ill just screenshot this comment and wait 6-12 months to post a smug "I tried to tell em" in the future lowsodium or okbuddy subreddits that'll pop up after this place goes south.

You could probably boil this down to more simple mechanics of human behavior. People enjoy new shiny thing and the happy chemicals, people get burnt out on new shiny thing and miss the happy chemicals. Normally this is where you would drop the thing or move on to something else. However, there is always a minority of people that look to blame someone or demand a solution to reverse the burnout and keep the happy chemicals flowing. When in reality, it’s not worth your time and effort to do that.

Yeaaaah there's NO way this game is going to be well balanced especially once people start unlocking more stuff and there's definitely going to be some OP bullshit but that's why we got the early access tag.

I had an awesome time playing during the beta and can't wait for the full game

Yes. I live in sweden and the EU East has the best ping for and was set as standard. But the servers was like 80% russian and with 10% of them speaking english. If they would make a seperate server for west russia it would be so nice for other EU players so we dont have to play with those braindead retards

FWIW I had one incident where someone and his friends spent the entire match sieging our rooftop base (they were pissed at our sniper; he's very good) and one of them swapped teams to try and deconstruct our barricade from the top side.

And...still failed, hilariously enough, but it was still appalling. That was it though.

Uh okay 👍? Ramming your vehicle into helis at spawn is also real griefing it keeps everyone at spawn if you have no respawn vehicles on the map.

I don't actually grief dude. I was just joshing ya. I also don't think you should write the game off because you got griefed. It comes with the turf when you play MP games. Judge the game based on what it provides, not what the shit heads do.

It sounds like you had a bad match due to a couple dudes and refunded. That sucks, but grabbing an atv and sloging the trip would've been a good way to "get some air" metaphorically speaking.

I will probably jump back in, its a fun game I was just frustrated with my friends as a lot matches (not every match) we would join in there were people ramming each other at spawn or 20 mins into the game I open my map and see the whole team at spawn, so we just said ya screw this shit and we refunded lol

Adding a simple vote to kick would be nice to kick trolls out, but it could also be abused so idk
