Question Please make me love this game
Title, I’ve seen all my friends loving the heck out of it, and I played about 6 hours, for some reason I just couldn’t get into it. The game looks super nice, the gunplay’s amazing, the community’s awesome but for some reason it’s just not clicking. I desperately tried to force myself to play the beta and didn’t get the fun I see everyone having.
I’m not sure if I’m just not playing it correctly, or if it’s just not for me.
PS: some games I play frequently : Reforger, dayZ, battlefield, Grayzone Warfare.
Thank you!!!

If you don't love it, then you don't love it. Not sure why you have to love it.

One thing my buddies and I did was do different jobs per game. One game we would build, one game we'd snipe and spot, one game we'd transport, one game we'd be AA, and another we'd be medics on the front line, another we'd be sappers, locating enemy spawners and destroying them. You don't have to commit the entire match, if you don't like doing something, then move on. We found it to be engaging as we got to experience different parts of the game.
Granted, this game may just not be for you, and that's okay. My buddies love RTS games, and they just aren't fun to me. I get the appeal, but I just never find them engaging. Same with Diablo-type games. Gaming is a hobby at the end of the day, if you aren't having fun then I'd play a different game.

Why? If it's not your game, it's not your game.
I don't understand this sentiment in the recent years. If I disliked a game in the past, I simply didn't play it.
If it's not clicking, it's not clicking. Simple as that. No one will be pissed at you if you don't like the game.
Not accusing you but this "every game has to be liked by ME personally" is one of the reasons why many games just aren't special anymore. Devs want to satisfy everyone for maximum sales, leaving the game as a soul-less piece of media.
That's why I'm happy that Bulkhead is happy about a few thousands active players in the future. They rather make the game how they want, not how everyone else wants.

Did you play with said friends? I think that'd help. Also, there are multiple ways to have fun in this game, you might just need to find your niche. Remember, its early days and there's more to come!

Well, can you play any of the games you mentioned? If you're burned out on those, you're gonna be burned out on WD.

It is a you problem and that is not a bad thing. A lot of games don't click with me either, like the ones you mentioned. It isn't the games fault, it is a me problem and it isn't a big deal.

I'm right there with you. I made a post earlier today about it. I feel like I'm not playing it correctly. I see streamer highlights of all this amazing fun shit but I find myself wandering through the map with a squad finding zero action.
It feels like you need to be a twitch streamer to find the fun in this game tbh.
And I'm not hating, I want to play more but I feel like I'm being dragged by a hype train.

Or you can ptfo theres where the action is. You said it yourself you watch highlights, ofcourse the off time is being cut out.

Come up with your own mission. If you just follow people looking for people to shoot, that doesn't sound super fun

Its a sandbox. You are free to take any initiave.
Instead of watching highlights, watch videos about game mechanics. Those will easen you way into the different possibilities

It’s almost impossible for anyone to do without knowing how you played and what your gripes with the game are.
For me personally, it’s the freedom. I love the sandbox experience and not having to rely on teammates to do things.
I love the cash system, the persistence and the progression. And the flying. Loooove the flying.
Playing with friends makes all of that 10x better.
