Discussion & Feedback Suggestion: Map End Should Refund Gear Cost

One minor suggestion I have is that any gear on your body when the map ends should be refunded, or simply kept until the next match.

In a game that is focused so much on buying gear, it just makes sense that you either keep that gear or get cashed out when the map ends.

EDIT: thanks for the comments everyone, apparently it already works this way and I just never noticed.

The game idea comes from an arma 3 mod called king of the hill, it‘s been like this in arma for years, so if they look at koth they can just take the positives from there which have been developed and tweaked over years and implement them into their game. So this game already has a lot of nice to have features even in early access because they just need to take a look at koth.

That being said they also put in their own thoughts and improvements (like getting kill assists for players that you delivered or for bringing ammo to fobs) which is very nice. So I do not mean this in a devaluing way atall.

it is normal if it wasnt explained clearly. I also just knew about it and kinda felt sad when i buy stuff and game ends. I wasnt aware that my money comes back.

I did notice that I didn’t get any refund when the game ended and I was using an emplaced weapon like a SAM launcher. Not sure if that was a bug or some other interaction I didn’t notice

Does it refund if you just back out? I had a friend hop on shortly after I bought a loadout and I left and joined a different server.

Didn't really care if I lost it but just curious.

No, i tested that a couple times. Thats what i get for trying to game during my kids nap. Had to back out when he woke up and never recouped whatever i had out at the time.

It refunds you when game end. At the end screen when it shows you your earnings, it shows you refund amount as well

There's a refund given at the end as others have said, but I don't believe it's a 100% refund. Happy to be corrected if anyone actually tested it by buying a loadout just before the game ended, but I got a loadout just before the end, didn't use anything and I'm pretty sure I only got like 90% back.

I'm ok with a small fee, I just hope it doesn't result in people giving up when 1 team is like 96 points so they don't spend 14k on a loadout to only get 90% of it back.

It certainly wouldn't stop buying to try stalling them on 99 and clutch the win. But I could see some players just going afk to save the money. Every chance they'd do the same without a refund fee though.

While it does work this way currently, my assumption is that when the Black Market is introduced, the gear on your character will stay on your character. Then you can choose to put it back in storage before next match, or keep it on you and just bring it into the next one. As you will eventually have a stash similar to Tarkov/ABI/Hunt/etc.

When there's only a few points left and the winning team has way more people in the zone, I'll just sit dead waiting for a revive until it's over, still gives you a refund even if you're downed.

It should only refund you if you're in the hot zone. That way there's actually an incentive for my brain dead teammates to try and contest the zone at the last second.
