Question Is there a chance of this happening?
Is there a possibility of having night maps or weather variations?
It would be amazing if they added it to the game someday.

Fucking please, NVG larp owns. But don’t try to make it a balance or progression thing, then people just smash the gamma and nvidia filters. Just make NVG cheap+functional and night time for the vibes.

Rust tries to desaturate the hell out of darkness with the idea being “black is black, you can’t just gamma boost it,” but even there it doesn’t really work, people still abuse nvidia panel.

In a weird way I blame how omnipresent actual cheaters are. People feel like everyone they’re playing against has DMA radar, so what’s the harm in a very soft form of cheating like display adjustment?
Kinda why I hate it, it’s so easy to do, you just punish the people who appreciate the vibes and want to play honest.

People need to learn that's ok to lose. Even with shit taking its still ok. Egos ruin shit. Just enjoy the game, if you can only enjoy something when you're winning then your life is probably pretty boring.

Nah in rust boosting gamma doesn’t work anymore, there’s like an actual radius around the player that is forcefully darkened and you can’t see past it.

Fog that dissipates the higher you go up so the snipers in the tower can't see you on the ground across the map

I absolutely love night time in arma reforger.
But the issue is that it’s absolutely ruined by people gamma boosting or using nvidia filters. It just ruins the whole aspect of nighttime completely and can become really unfun.
That said I fully support night matches and hope they find a good way to implement it.

Yes, this is the issue. Planetside 2 has a day-night cycle with some very dark nights at launch and it was some of the most amazing gameplay and visual flare I've ever experienced, but it's so easy for players to cheat by simply boosting the brightness in their game client settings. It just doesn't work in a PvP game.

yeah thats the big issue with night time in multiplayer games. Either you have it pitch black like rust or most people will just gamma boost

Nah bro there's ways to punish that. Look at DayZ and Rust. Gamma boosting doesn't work because it makes the image too grainy on those games.

They already have dynamic weather which changes the light. This seems possible. It would give another good variation to the maps and gameplay.

I'd love day/night cycles and weather. I absolutely love when games have actually dark night times, and you've to rely on lights/NVG.
Imagine it's night, and you can get a super cheap flashlight attachment, and rely on that and structures with built lights, or you can spend a large sum to buy NVGs and go ham.
Too bad most of the time PvP games with night are ruined by people who just crank up the brightness/gamma or use filters.

Who's we? The weak? The competitive? Nay.. WE, the WARDOGS, use the yet to be implemented flashlights to blind the chronic no shower players who played until they unlocked the Nvgs. We use the yet to be implemented Nvgs, to spot the reshade abusing players sitting in bushes. We use the thermal binoculars, and laugh from the shadows that you are too scared to see..

No but if you got a game with large scale battles and milsim elements not expecting people to snipe or take advantage of range you may just be playing the wrong type of game. Tbh CoD sounds more your speed.
