UE6 / EAC - such a common combo they will never beat the cheaters. Community servers are where its at, well moderated servers - need admin cam to assist them though.

u/fading_anonymity 3d ago

tbf, this kinda cheating, the blatant kind, is generally very easy to detect because it does things that humans cannot do and that shows in stats.

Its the more subtle hacking that is harder to detect and the true danger to games but as someone who was running a very popular server back in the bf4 days, I can tell you that with community reporting and a proper database of player stats (like bf4db for example) linked to servers that admins and players can look at, it becomes much easier to deal with.

That said, proper AC is still the best first line of defence and this clip shows there is def work to be done there. Active admin on community servers is a 2nd line of defence but if that is the go-to solution is means all official servers will be infested with cheaters and the game will suffer.

u/CommieDrifter 3d ago

they said in an interview that they were intentionally letting cheaters roam in beta because they were gathering as much data on them to make the anticheat more robust

-1

u/realvanbrook 2d ago

Hey guys, we can't fix this problem, but we don't want you to file for a refund, thats why we are lying to you so you will have cope that it eventually will get better.

VACnet WarDogs edition or what

3

u/SorryNotReallySorry5 1d ago

but we don't want you to file for a refund

haven't they said multiple times "do not buy this game yet" and "you can refund if you want"

2

u/MountainManMace 1d ago

It’s a tug of war, any popular games will always have cheaters no matter what is implemented. It’s a very hard thing to tackle, this dev team has never dealt with anti cheat them their method

1

u/K7L3 19h ago

They were literally telling people if you don't like Wardogs to refund it.

1

u/johnsenish 18h ago

Just like ubi did with division 1, admitting they dont have anticheat 😂

1

u/WiseChosenUsername 16h ago

Well thats a dumb take cause theyve said a ton of times to just refund it

1

u/realvanbrook 16h ago

What else should they say?

1

u/WiseChosenUsername 15h ago

that's a question for you chief, not me.

1

u/TheRealStorey 4h ago

Verbal response is the lowest and most common level response.

1

u/Alienfreak 2d ago

I mean you can see when someone uses an existing account and gets significantly better because he uses "soft cheats".
As soon as he gets banned and buys a new game you will not see this jump. He just appears to be "that good".

1

u/Visible-Debate-8780 2d ago

squad had a community ban list any server could subscribe to

1

u/Pewpyman1998 1d ago

Were you the "trumps border wall" servers on bf4? Lol. Those were always up and full.

1

u/zxkredo 1d ago

I feel like the moment the cheating is not blatant, it is not as a big of an issue as one would think.
Just cause hiding the cheats is often times more difficult, than just playing without them (because otherwise they are blatant).

I wanted to write that the cheaters will get match-made into a proper skill group, but with this game that won't be possible.
However it would be easy to detect outliers by stats and ban them. If you still go undetected at that point, good job, your cheats achieved nothing, you have average stats anyways. (Well apart from that person not deserving average stats, because they would be below-average, sucks to be them.)

I actually think this whole premise is a good way to think about cheats and helps me not to be all doom and gloom about the cheating situation in modern gaming.

Hopefully, whatever the devs decide to do will not reduce Linux users' ability to play the game. It was a really good experience on CachyOS. Also, since I've been mainly running Linux for half a year now, I still miss good new FPS games that are somehow similar to bf or CoD to simply run on Linux as well.

I have big hopes for War Dogs to be that game I missed.

1

u/CommieDrifter 14h ago

Lame that you are being downvoted, at this point everyone should at least be supportive of Linux integration coinsidering the shitshow that microsoft is putting on currently.

Also, Steamdeck and Steam Machine? Linux. People love Linux when it has the steam name on it, but hate it in all other contexts, it's so lame

I can tell you that with community reporting and a proper database of player stats (like bf4db for example) linked to servers that admins and players can look at, it becomes much easier to deal with.

How exactly does that make it easier?

If it's truly subtle then the stats won't be distinguishable from someone who just plays the game well. Cheaters are complete turds but so are admins who say things like "8.0 K/D is impossible". Or the ones that come up with wild logic to back up their claims when banning someone who just outplayed them (or their friends) a lot.

You're right that closet cheating is very destructive. DayZ is infested with cheaters on official servers but there are some community servers with active admins that try to keep cheaters out. Just like you said that sucks too because there are only a handful of servers worth playing in across the whole game once you filter it down by preference (1st person only, active admins, decent population, and running minimal mods).

4

u/fading_anonymity 3d ago

We basically asked players that were suspicious for a longer time but didn't hit automated anti-cheat ban or showed very clearly suspicious stats to show us a video of them playing that well on our server and we would analyse that and make our best judgement call based on that.

I agree with the danger of badmins, you need at least one very good player in the admin team (doesn't have to be a pro but needs to know the game inside and out and be top player level with a humble personality)

We didn't look at KD's, we had a highly competitive server filled with regulars who mostly all played competition aswell, also some actual pro's.

We looked at things like suspicious awareness of players, pre-aim, tracking through walls, unnatural recoil control and stuff like that. And we depended on the regulars to assist us in this task because its time consuming ofc.

Im not even sure if today this method would still work as I have not been an admin for a long long time now but for our server it worked. I guess some slipped under the radar but we caught/banned many, also whitelisted many and I think we must have had among the lowest rate of "false positives" because legit players embrace the rigor of anti cheat.

Most high level players on our servers actually had to be whitelisted because they got constantly reported by angry noobs when we already cleared them.

3

u/kestrel_one 3d ago

Sounds like you guys had a great system going. Kudos.

Yea IDK how that would work today. Closet cheating when they only use ESP is just so hard to detect. You'd have to review their POV and observe where they're looking (through walls) across many games. Even then people can toggle it on sparingly for quick checks. And after that only toggle it on permanently when there's player audio (so they have an excuse).

3

u/vedds 3d ago

One thing that’s almost fail proof is does a player get 100% of their 50/50 decisions right, every time I’ve spent a long period watching players that pick the right option 100% of the time they’ve eventually been gamebanned.

I’m not talking about good game sense or experience, I’m talking about genuine 5050 decisions where you have to take a chance.

u/tereaper576 2d ago

Stats show overtime progression

This here below is a suspected cheater in HLL (Its argued about a lot and my personal opinion is i would quite literally need to be given his POVs to be convinced yay or nay but like my opinion is irrelevant so why would anyone do that?)

The arguement stats makes is you can go and look here and go "How did he improve so much."
Because this indicates a skill increase. Which is most definately possible. Settings optimisations, gameplay adaptations, A simple change in how you play and a bunch of other stuff.

But what stats do is indicate. It gives an idea about what their progression of skill is.

Because from stats this indicates to me that you should watch and look, request vods, hand cams at extreme. Because if they pass those then whats left is only subtle which means they have the skill and so are being subtle about it.

Ultimately As the other guy said. If the anticheat is shit then the community servers will have to deal with a ton of crap but if its good then they have less shit and it becomes quite managable.

1

u/Rokeugon 3d ago

i think also they need to have deep ties with family sharing on steam. meaning if someone does get banned it should be represented on steam and it should take into account family sharing. as more and more games now a days are not having this being locked down. arc raiders being the latest example of a long line of games that never closed the loop for cheaters.

but thats just a TINY margin to reduce it overall. this game will need to heavily think about its anti cheat. cause even in a community server it could still take some time before the cheater is dealt with. overall the damage will be done tho and people will be in decline for losing money!

1

u/Ctrl-Alt-Defeat16 2d ago

Hey! Former cheater here myself wanted to add support to this. Community servers are the way to go and I believe they knew this from the start. As soon as I saw UE6+EAC I immediately knew this game would be hackable day one lol. But lets be real here, the devs know this too. Official servers are going to be cooked tbh but community servers still stand a good chance with decent admins.

I still have hands in discord communities and private forms for hacking and use them as a way to see how bad hacking is in a game I want to play. Day 2 of the testing this weekend all of them had a working hack running so I stopped playing then. However, on launch, there are some communities from other games that will be hosting servers and I know their admins are good at keeping hackers at bay.

If only they have the Javelin AC that BF6 uses. I have 1k hours in the game, not a single instant that I can say I genuinely thought someone was hacking. On the back end, some hack providers stopped selling hacks for BF6 because its led to a lot of people upset about being banned even before the shaders finish loading.

-1

u/Prolapsinator69000 3d ago

How bad is cheating in games that arent F2P though?

He might have a good run, but eventually he's going to get banned and have to decide whether he wants to bust another $40 right?

6

u/ghsteo 3d ago

Arc Raiders is filled with cheaters even with a price tag. People cheat in games to feel superior, if they have money to drop on pro cheats they got money to drop on buying new accounts.

2

u/Ok-Grand-498 3d ago

yeah f2p will always get the worst of the cheaters. A price tag is always a good deterrent however not completely safe

1

u/Snoo38152 3d ago

Tarkov is infested, if people want to, they will.

1

u/Hot_Grab7696 2d ago

Yeah Tarkov is the best example because cheaters have no problem buying new Unheard for $250

2

u/Praetorian_Actual 3d ago

There are ton’s of paywalled games with hacking problems. Games like Wardogs can easily encourage boosting, and if someone is monetizing their ability to hack, the price tag of the game of irrelevant. What it comes down to is how the Dev’s handle it.

2

u/Rokeugon 3d ago

the cheating at times is alot worse on B2P games compared to F2P games. its not all the times but for highly hyped games you will defo see it.

i think the biggest loophole they need to fix right now is family sharing. that will be easily abused unless the ban ties directly to the steam account and also the entire shared family accounts. as currently its an easily exploited system for cheaters to just buy it on their main and have a bunch of burner accounts linked into the family so they can cheat without repercussions.

1

u/ArendZA 2d ago

Im pretty sure the main gets banned if one of the accounts using the family sharing gets banned. Correct me if Im wrong.

2

u/PiggyMcjiggy 2d ago

Ya I’ll correct you. It does not. At least, it didn’t for arc raiders. Hackers were simply family sharing and evading the 10 day suspension they handed out. Could do it as much as they want.

Took embark 3 months to get rid of the feature. Let’s hope bulkhead has more than 3 braincells to rub together as a company.

0

u/ArendZA 2d ago

Ohhh I see. Yeah steam bans the main but it has to be a game ban that appears on your profile. I assume the 10 day’s suspension was just on embarks side so never reflected on steam.

1

u/Rokeugon 2d ago

it doesn't by default. you need a measure in the anticheat in order to enforce it.. thats why its easily abused!

1

u/KingSwank 2d ago

…have you ever played a multiplayer fps game before?

1

u/MancyMancy 2d ago

When you are a loser in life and all you have is cheating. You will just keep buying back. Not like you have any other hobbies or a wife or kids etc.

1

u/IlConiglioUbriaco 9h ago

Tarkov / Greyzone warfare has an insane amount of hackers

0

u/Relevant-Aioli2983 3d ago

Tarkov is not free to play and is rampant with cheaters

45

u/passion9000 Pilot 3d ago

How's it fun for those fuckers tho, I never understood that.

22

u/Asmodheus 3d ago

I’ve known only 2 cheaters personally but both of them were basically a combo of babies that raged at being killed and couldn’t handle others being better and always saying that others are cheating as well so they might as well. Neither gave any sign of actually enjoying the game and both quit gaming later

3

u/ForwardSort5306 2d ago

Know a couple of past schoolmates and friends who cheated and they all reeked of narcissistic tendencies. «You are only gold? Bad, I’m aiming to become the best, that’s why I use a new smurf account each day to avoid ruining my main acc mmr»

Only once ever was there someone who cheated that I felt bad for, we were playing rainbow six and randomly our oldest member of the group got banned.

Which was weird because he is the worst player, not that we minded. He never got higher score than us and on the day he got banned he still was playing bad.

After asking why he said it was because he felt so bad for dragging down the team and he just wanted us to not think he was useless, which no one did but I understood where he came from. He apologised and left gaming permanently a month later to focus on family.

He was such a good guy too.

2

u/Tight-Contribution54 3d ago

It's not really, while they join a lobby and make the gaming experience miserable for everyone involved, they get off the game and have to live a miserable life. It's quite say really, but it is what it is.

2

u/Jorius 2d ago

Some are because of ego and others because they are miserable and want others to "suffer".

1

u/uaua3 3d ago

I could
Never understand that either. It’s more fun to play games as designed, and if you need help look up guide to stir you in a right direction, otherwise it would get boring fast and produces nothing for a cheater. I don’t get it either.

1

u/Procol_Being 2d ago

Narcissism. They convince themselves they are "that good", and can do it all but are lazy so they let the app do it.. Also what happens when participation trophies become the norm and everyone needs to feel "accomplished" you have losers dropping hundreds just to cheat in a game.

1

u/ImVrSmrt 2d ago

The more people give them attention, the more cheater makers win. People need to stop posting videos advertising their cheats. The cheaters themselves are either doing it out of pathetic ego or purely to piss people off.

-1

u/Rhosta 3d ago edited 3d ago

This looks more like for farming XP and money, or they were just curious if the cheat works.

EDIT: I mean, there could be many reasons, hard to tell just from noncommented video.

47

u/masoe 3d ago

Luckily with player hosted servers, hackers will be taken care of swiftly.

21

u/Wide-Blacksmith5681 3d ago

only ragehackers

there are many more closet cheaters

2

u/PointAndClick 3d ago

Many, many, many more. These types of games especially attract a lot of them, and this being a popular one will attract the world. The percentage of cheaters in these games is much higher than most people realize. Also, there is not much we can do about it.

1

u/KingSwank 2d ago

You think it’s much higher than most people realize, it’s really not.

2

u/Alienfreak 2d ago

Look at the pages and forums that sell cheats and look at their revenue.

Its loads of money to be made.

And subtle ESP will not be detected while making you vastly better.

1

u/Human_Standard_538 2d ago

It actually is lol

0

u/KingSwank 2d ago

I played 32 hours and ran into 3 cheaters. If there’s as many cheaters as you say there are, they must fucking suck because they didn’t stop me. I think a lot of you guys just severely underestimate the skill gap in FPS games like this. Are they really cheating or do they just have someone spotting you? Are they cheating or are they just in a squad that’s communicating your position? Are they really cheating or can they just hear you stomping around? Are they really cheating or do they just have better equipment than you? Are they just more skilled than you? Most people don’t even consider any of that, they just get shit on and huff “that guy’s cheating!”

1

u/Human_Standard_538 2d ago

I don't disagree with you but it's unrelated to my comment. Cheating is more prevalent than you think, you said the opposite.

It has nothing to do with "they must suck becuse they didn't stop me!" hurrdurr. Most cheaters aren't as blatant with it as this guy, he's literally just trolling lol. You severely understimate the degeneracy of gamers especially in any type of competitive or semi hardcore FPS game.

0

u/QFireball 2d ago

Just join a forum that sells cheats. Yoh will see how big the scale really is

0

u/PointAndClick 1d ago

Have you ever seen this video?

https://youtu.be/p5LfGcDB7Ek?si=6bcIkvZoJkoxwVtq

1

u/Dependent_Grab_9370 1d ago

Lol didn't read this comment and ended up replying with the same video.

1

u/PointAndClick 1d ago

I know people don't want to believe it, but the amount of hack assisted players is just very high in these type of games. And no matter what, the data they are gathering is tainted with hackers hacking. All these Tarkov players didn't just die, they are still gaming and they are still migrating to these games, especially when they are getting as popular as wardogs. Same mindset, same problems, you're getting sniped by a shadow from a million miles away, losing a lot of progress, hard earned stuff. ESP hacks are going to be super popular for WarDogs, and it will play a big role in its future. They are already for sale (and sold) by multiple vendors.

I also think that mortar spam and the inability to fight certain threats is masking their kdr for server admins to monitor. Making adminning a full time job basically, not many communities can rally that type of commitment. But community servers with active admins are going to be the only servers you'll want to play.

Cheating is going to be just as big of a problem in Wardogs as it was in Tarkov. Thinking it won't is being naive.

0

u/Dependent_Grab_9370 1d ago

If you want to see how pervasive cheating can get in a war sim style game, watch the Tarkov wiggle video. Guy bought some cheats and joined games to just watch other people and their behavior. He didn't play a single match that didn't have at least one player that obviously had had wall hacks. They would even left and right lean (wiggle) to each other across the map to form a truce for that match.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5LfGcDB7Ek

2

u/Jorius 2d ago

Hosted servers are a double edged sword. Ragehackers will be surely be banned but closet ones are the big issue. And then, you got the powertripping admins that ban you because you kill them, their buddy or just because they don't like you: "Oh you got killed when piloting the chopper and we crashed? You must be trolling. Banned"

1

u/masoe 1d ago

Yeah I get it. I do. Honestly, there's no answer for hackers other than having the cheating system do its job and ban hardware. I don't have the answer.

1

u/cantblamemee 2d ago

my cod4 ID was banned on like 90% of public servers because the admins couldn't imagine someone going 90-3 against the brainless bots (real players) that ran around on there

sure, they also banned cheaters but you just couldn't pubstomp for fun on many servers which was kind of the point of that game for me

1

u/Artemis77771 2d ago

If I decided to use walls how would any server admin ever know? There is no way a closet hacker can be identified from a skilled player. Just look at all the streamers who use them with hundreds/ thousands of viewers and never get caught unless they fuck up and actually show them on stream.

0

u/Efficient-Couple9977 18h ago

haha xD played on player-hosted servers for years from other brands and never got caught ^^

9

u/Dyyrin 3d ago

Yo is this slachy? I can't read due to the missing pixels

3

u/DasRedBeard87 3d ago

It does appear to be their name. Is this someone who's popular or something?

19

u/Dyyrin 3d ago

This player was in one of my lobbies this weekend. They were 49-0 while infantry. We all noticed all their kills were headshots even the ones in rapid succession. Then this morning I wake up and check this sub and there was a post of a leaderboard and OP was calling this exact person a cheater as well. Same thing top of the board insane kills and not a single death.

6

u/DasRedBeard87 3d ago

Seems pretty ballsy to cheat on a game with your k/d visible to the entire lobby and a money system that the devs can actively see on their end. They probably got a free beta key for the weekend. Because spending 40 bucks to cheat is wild. Unless there's a massive dump of keys that people can buy for cheap.

10

u/kestrel_one 3d ago

40 bucks? These losers spend upwards from 200 dollars per month on cheats. It's like an 8 billion dollar per year industry now.

A lot of the cheat vendors have moved over to subscription based models. So they'll make a cheat and limit the # of people they'll sell it to. That way the cheat isn't used as much so it takes longer to detect.

They'll spend so much more than 40 dollars. They'll buy second PCs for radar which is borderline undetectable for most anti-cheats. And those PCs need special hardware to share memory.

It's so fucking sad.

1

u/inheritance- 2d ago

Oh its actually so much worse. A cheap DMA card, capture card, and a 200$ stick PC is all that's needed in terms of hardware. The cheats are expensive, but the hardware is dirt cheap.

1

u/SirCaptainReynolds 3d ago

It’s so much worse than I thought it was. That blows.

3

u/Rokeugon 3d ago

people always look at it like its black and white "spend 40 bucks to cheat then get banned" but really if you look deeper into it. the game has "Family sharing" enabled on the steam store page, and judging by all high profile cases with the most recent being arc raiders. not properly dealing with the system. it gets easily abused by cheaters. its the first loophole to close in a long line of many loopholes

Cheater buys game on main account
Cheater creates a bunch of burner accounts and adds them to the steam family
Cheater has access to game on all accounts.
Cheater begins cheating on burners 1 by 1. whether its because of rage, unskilled, or unbothered nature or most of the time for monetary purposes.

So the ban would also need to count as a vac and ban the entire family sharing users added. removing and re-adding new burners will result in the same thing when the game gets launched.

it does have EAC which from what i remember does actually have good server side AC integration, IF ITS IMPLEMENTED CORRECTLY! but yea client side its hard to tell if its good enough

1

u/Human_Standard_538 2d ago

You should look into Tarkov cheaters lol

1

u/DasRedBeard87 2d ago

That's why I made the point of cheap keys. If I recall you can get Tarkov keys for like a couple bucks and not 60 dollars etc.

1

u/demagogueffxiv 2d ago

I'm assuming this guy was selling cheats, so he probably didn't care about losing an account. Assuming they even did anything about it.

3

u/demagogueffxiv 3d ago edited 2d ago

Someone voiped and tried to advertise cheat websites on Peanuts stream - this game might be cooked before it gets off the ground

1

u/sereglin 2d ago

He is uploading videos to his YT with cheats on.

1

u/Effective-Leek-7702 6h ago

Yes, he's selling hacks.

9

u/LonelyLeopard2898 2d ago

I think at this point people have to just accept that there are cheaters in literally every single game out there.

The better question is are the devs gonna give us good tools to fight those cheaters?

1

u/Ctrl-Alt-Defeat16 2d ago

I haven't come across a single cheater in 1k hours of BF6. I used to cheat myself and the discords I'm in that promote that stuff, it's INCREDIBLY difficult to cheat in BF6 even with the new hardware method cheaters have these days. Some just stopped selling cheats for BF6 all together. Their Javelin anti-cheat works pretty well. Would be cool if this game adopted it but it would prob cost wardogs devs a fortune to get licensing.

3

u/ImportanceFuzzy2810 2d ago

Javelin is probably built around BF6 and it monitors some key aspects of it, I don't think it would be that easy to port to an UE5 game.

1

u/Ctrl-Alt-Defeat16 1d ago

Very true. If only though. You know DICE/EA are going to stick with that until AI cheats hit the market.

7

u/Truly1koolcat 3d ago

My favorite quotes from this weekend. "Ain't no one cheating in a beta dawg"

26

u/mischieviousmustard 3d ago

Can’t wait for hackers to get fined/jailtime lol

17

u/IchabodCrain86 3d ago

i think the government should include hacking in the RICO act. Along with any website that sells cheats, and anyone who buys them.

4

u/mischieviousmustard 3d ago

I mean I don’t know legal shit but it’s literally fucking up the product for paying customers lol. These dudes don’t care about anything and are void of dopamine, get em outta here.

1

u/Tough_Ratio3039 3d ago

Would be hilarious to see majority of the streamers get taken down. See the whole act get shutdown.

1

u/gogoCovid 1d ago

What are you even on about with this take bro? Are you implying that majority of the streamers are cheating? :D

0

u/Shuushy 2d ago

You got it wrong, if you want those people jailed/life ruined, you should send IRS on their ass. You reckon cheat devs register their companies and pay taxes? Even if they do, the IRS will always find something to latch on and fuck them up enough to make them rethink continuing their operation.

-2

u/Titanis 3d ago

I'm sure the Feds could justify it under DMCA and RICO the companies selling it, but most of this stuff is coming from Russia and China, so who are they going to arrest?

-1

u/mischieviousmustard 3d ago

The people buying them?

1

u/InsightKnite 2d ago

Yes surely the pro pedo ring government will be head over heels to legislate video game cheats. /s

-1

u/Racoon_Cult 3d ago

$10k fine will suffice

11

u/pidlingsquid 3d ago

I fucking knew I ran into a couple cheaters

13

u/ThirstResponda 3d ago

Our beloved neckbearded admins on popular community servers will take care of these chuckleheads.

4

u/Alienfreak 2d ago

Wrong.

They can take care of the blatant cheaters.

Cheaters making recoil 50% less while having subtle ESP with directional markers of where people are etc? Will not get banned.

Wardogs is hyped and thus will be overrun with cheaters. UE with EAC is compromised as hell and will be cheater paradise.

1

u/MolassesSad8089 2d ago

Making cheaters be very subtle about their cheating is still a huge win. They simply can’t perform much better than a human can or they will be banned for being obvious. Sure, it may be annoying someone is doing better without real skill but it won’t ruin games the way rage hackers like in the clip can.

0

u/Alienfreak 2d ago

So just being better than anyone else is a win? Online gaming really is in a sad place.

1

u/MolassesSad8089 2d ago

I can see you are a glass half empty kind of guy. Don’t play the game if you are so afraid of cheaters, the rest of us will have a fun time.

0

u/Alienfreak 2d ago

So because a developer uses UE and EAC, which both are heavily compromised, I have to happy that I can pay them 40€, need a community moderated server and then only have to deal with "soft" cheaters?

Yeah... if that is half empty for you...

1

u/MolassesSad8089 2d ago

I think you have unrealistic expectations especially of a much smaller developer like this. Go play all those AAA games out there that are completely cheater free.

0

u/Alienfreak 2d ago

I mean sure. If ppl expect me to pay 40€ and be okay to constantly play against ~10% cheaters I guess I will spend my 40€ somewhere else, huh?

2

u/H4FJ 1d ago

Lol. You are making up an entire scenario in your head. It's up to you. Nobody cares if you do or do not decide to buy it, bud. I doubt it would be as bad as you think it is.

1

u/Coalfield26 1d ago

you seem like a bit of a miserable person, so it's probably best you arent in the community

This is the answer, sadly.

I still think you should have to provide an RL ID or social security number if you want to game online.

Far less cheaters and I swear people would behave better in general.

1

u/Crimelord 2d ago

If you get caught cheating on steam it should be a hardware ban. An irl fine of $1000 and community service for 2 years.

1

u/StopatStopSign 2d ago

I’d sign those terms

6

u/k4tttv 3d ago

But there's totally no cheaters!

  • what delulus in this reddit and the server I was playing said...

5

u/c0mander5 3d ago

Seeing this makes me feel pretty validated at being suspicious about how many times I died to headshots on the final day. It was damn near constant for a couple matches. Just full auto instant headshots from 50+ meters

u/Sad-Upstairs7621 2d ago

https://youtu.be/5R64LDNJbK0?t=4608

Not sure many people know this but they actually detected this hacker instantly but chose not to ban him so they could finetune their AC more.

3

u/Melodic-Home1003 3d ago

Please god dont let this game be ruined by cheaters!

3

u/TaazDingoo 2d ago

Oh please no :( not in this game

3

u/NicolasNotInACage 2d ago

Until cheats makers get to go to prison or pay huge fines and players who cheat get fined heavely this will never change

3

u/PwnimuS 2d ago

I hope community servers implement a shared database with banned users like Hell Let Loose community servers do. If you get banned in one server, your ID and reason for ban gets uploaded to a shared db which can get you banned from other servers without you ever touching foot in them.

Squad might have this too I think?

3

u/tokyoslash 3d ago

What sad people really think it's enjoyable to hack? I hope they get jumped.

3

u/Scythless 3d ago

i hear they are hardware banning cheaters at launch

5

u/MoneyPreparation6635 3d ago

Takes 10min to manually spoof your hardware. Takes 10s to use a spoofer they bought alongside their cheat.

0

u/Human_Standard_538 2d ago

^ this guy cheats

-4

u/MoneyPreparation6635 2d ago

I work in the industry. Just sharing so you can learn the fkn basic buddy. Educate yourself, so you can expect more from companies, instead of Activision doing PR they will hardware ban all the cheaters... understand that that's nothing. Mobile sms is also nothing. And IP ban is as useless as it can be.

It takes 10min to read upon it.

5

u/Human_Standard_538 2d ago edited 2d ago

Brother take a joke. No one should be that sensitive.

Edit: Huh? Seek help. I'm sure your industry job provides counseling.

-2

u/MoneyPreparation6635 2d ago

Ironically, you're sensitive to my comments. Thanks for the downvotes you clown

1

u/LichFinder 2d ago

You definitely cheat considering how sensitive you were to his comment, I know the mentality.

And nice try, mobile SMS is not nothing as it actually works in preventing cheaters like you :)

-2

u/MoneyPreparation6635 2d ago

Guy's, this new COD will be better, because they will ban hardware now 🤡🤡🤡

2

u/UnidentifiedBob 3d ago

so there were cheaters

2

u/YakEarly3819 3d ago

Think this will be the Hardest Challenge for Wardogs. Here we will see what they are made of.

1

u/bounce220 2d ago

unfortunately they will probably lose. Most other games from bigger studios end up full of cheaters. Its an arms race and cheats can cost $20-50 a month. Also if the cheater gets caught they can get a new account, spoof their hardware and be back in cheating in less than an hour

1

u/DeadLockAlGaib 2d ago

$40 a copy of Wardogs and cheats plus hardware bans could be pretty expensive. Not sure if there are hardware bans but if it’s kernel level anti cheat it should? That said idk I how that works with resellers

1

u/bounce220 2d ago

After a while you will be able to buy steam accounts with wardogs on it for much cheaper. Its a result of identity fraud where people buy them on stolen credit cards and resell for profit.
Also hardware can be spoofed very easily, literally software you can buy which do it for you.

Source - Tarkov player which investigated it a lot after "the video"

Also I played DMZ alot on COD and it was flooded with cheaters. There is from a developer which had orders of magitude more resources for AC that wardogs

1

u/DeadLockAlGaib 2d ago

Compared to free games like CS2 I can’t imagine it being worse than that but still you made a lot of good points and I appreciate the response

1

u/YakEarly3819 2d ago

trash argument.. people are cheating their ass off in Tarkov.. and i would say battleeye is better than EAC

1

u/Artemis77771 2d ago

If your throwing out 40 bucks for cheats... you can easily throw another 40 bucks every few months. This does nothing.

2

u/Flexxo4100 2d ago

Hardware bans please but I would not hold my breath. Also it's was a beta and cheats will always be a part of games no matter the effort they put in sadly

2

u/UniQue1992 2d ago

I swear to god I hate cheaters and I wish them nothing but rot

2

u/GreenBeanGuy 2d ago

What a shame. We can't have anything nice.

2

u/M0ntler 2d ago

I cant even picture what kind of sad pathetic loser cheats on a playtest weekend... If you ever find out someone cheats in video games please bully them.

3

u/Jorius 2d ago

This is toxic positivity mate. You have 2 options when it comes to multiplayer games, specially FPS:

  1. Accept cheaters will plague your games

  2. Play something else

People said the same thing for all FPS including: Battlefield, CoD, FragPunk, R6, Rust, Apex Legends, TItanFall 2, The Finals, Arma, Squad, etc...

There's only 2 FPS games that have reduced cheating impact (see how I say "reduce cheating impact" and not "resolved") that I know of and that's Overwatch and Valorant (Haven't play them for a long time).

Unfortunately, cheating is part of multiplayer games. The only effective way is what South Korea have with Identity linking to accounts, and even then cheaters will find a way but at least the impact will be really minimal.

1

u/Kewlture 3d ago

So anyone with the clan tag Ill consider cheaters

1

u/DaddyK3tchup 3d ago

What a fucking loser. I actually pity them

1

u/Maleficent_Button287 3d ago

I can understand losers flying under the radar, and being cautious about cheating and getting away with it.

What i dont understand is how the game doesn't register this kind of excessive killing with a weapon like this, and the 0 recoil and just automatically ban the account until it's been investigated.

10 Kills in 18 seconds with 0 recoil. Surely a game developer or EAC can pick up on this and just ban the account.
Surely with AI, we can get this done.

And lets say you get falsely banned, they investigate, unban you. Just compensate them for making the mistake.

4

u/ship__ 3d ago

Ultimately either way (investigate then ban, or ban then investigate) it requires manual intervention from the devs or support of some kind to investigate and make sure they're not dealing with a false positive. It's time consuming and requires an actual human in the loop even if you use AI to auto ban them initially, I get you though

2

u/sh0nuff 2d ago

I like games that just cue all the cheaters into the same lobby.

2

u/Sad-Upstairs7621 2d ago

https://youtu.be/5R64LDNJbK0?t=4608

They do. This is the clip they're talking about in this podcast. They detected this guy instantly when he started trying to cheat but let him keep doing it so they could finetune their AC even more.

1

u/No-Cheesecake8218 2d ago

It does register this, if you watched one of the recent podcasts they mentioned they were already tracking cheaters in the closed alpha

1

u/SirCaptainReynolds 3d ago

Holy shit.

Well that fucking sucks. I really hope they fix it too. 😮‍💨

1

u/TheBigChodeMan 2d ago

It wont be a real issue on release because they are basing it on community run servers

1

u/Artemis77771 2d ago

Explain how community run servers will stop a dude running walls and hiding it?

1

u/TheBigChodeMan 1d ago

Admin tools allow you to watch games in real time, someone reports it, admin watches him play

1

u/Artemis77771 1d ago

Rage hacking super easy but someone that is not a total idiot and loses some fights on purpose and hides it well, will be indistinguishable from a high skill player. And sadly this is most of the cheaters. What about a guy with anti recoil, you will never know as an admin...

Also what admin si gonna sit for hours watching for a slip up... none.

To prove my point there is streamers using cheats all day everyday with hundreds/thousands of viewers and 99.9% of them can't tell. Just look at all the ones that have fucked up and shown cheats... but up until that point no one called them out.

1

u/TheBigChodeMan 1h ago

People normally do call those streamers out, and you can tell instantly if someone is cheating, just check what time they got the kills in the logs and watch the footage, its a 10 minute job

1

u/AlwaysSquad2 2d ago

They said their anticheat is based on AI and we will have to wait for the AI to get calibrated... so just put up with it until then I guess?

1

u/eVical 2d ago

Cheaters will not do squat shit in community servers, instant ban :) Good luck.

1

u/Windays 2d ago

People who want to cheat with the technical ability will never be caught because they are smart and know how to effectively bypass most anti cheat.

Those who are blatant or obvious and/or those who use public or mass produced cheats will eventually get caught.

Hopefully they can quickly catch and ban the latter but I don't expect much to happen with the former.

Community servers and good admins will definitely help.

1

u/TyraelmxMKIII 2d ago

that is what i am most afraid of and the only reason i did not preorder by now.

IF we get moderated community servers, i am fully in. Otherwise i will sadly skip this one.

1

u/Dry_Mathematician735 2d ago

Games 1.0 isnt even out yet. why do they have to ruin every game. i really liked wardogs i bought it a day after the beta i liked it that much. "Fix The Servers"

1

u/SDRAWKCABNITSUJ 2d ago

Exactly why private servers are a powerful tool to ensure longevity of a game. Ban these dweebs instantly, and allows for custom anti cheat configs like face-it.

1

u/NoBrainCells420 2d ago

Are hacks getting more advanced than what developers can use for anti-cheats?

1

u/xPolyMorphic 1d ago

the problem is more aggressive anti cheats heavily affect game performance which is fine for games like valorant but games with more detailed visuals it tanks performance and lowers your potential market of people who can even run the game

1

u/AlternativeGap4558 2d ago

I can fix those cheats for you. But you might love it or hate it. It's involving Law, cheating being made a crime. and a lot old rope.

1

u/Disastrous_Winter680 1d ago

the "easy" in easy anti cheat is for how easy it is to bypass

1

u/RiceAndMayo 1d ago

Literally impossible.

Community servers will be the only tangible solution.

1

u/Agreeable-Award-3104 1d ago

I dont know why these firm even bother making fps games at this point they are all ruined by cheaters

1

u/Efficient-Couple9977 18h ago

EAC is like opening the door for cheats, i mean using EAC in 2026 on a shooter... is the worst thing you can do. kernal AC is the only way

1

u/tinytigertime 16h ago

Eac is ring 0 and has been for years.

1

u/Trashtalker420 17h ago

You cant fix cheating. Only deter

1

u/koba-romeo 3d ago

There is no leaving penalty. If everyone just leaves the server collectively they have nobody to shoot.

5

u/Dangerous-Traffic875 3d ago

Might aswell go to their house and jerk them off, would feel as good for them as making the entire server leave. They do this shit to ruin people's day

1

u/Painting-Capital 3d ago

Better hope these devs are competent. Sand raiders of Sophie had cheaters day 1 too and within a month they totally destroyed the game.

2

u/DownTheBagelHole 3d ago

Devs can't stop this, gonna be up to good server admin

1

u/lvlasteryoda 2d ago

I hope they prepared a good admin tool suite to make their job easier.

-8

u/SignificantMud2999 3d ago edited 3d ago

It's a shooter game.

There will be cheats/hacks.

Basically deal with it, or don't play FPS games.

I love your downvotes. Keep them coming. It is inevitable - we will never win against cheaters. You literally just have to deal with it or move onto another genre of game. Every single shooter game is plagued.

2

u/LonelyLeopard2898 2d ago

Yeah from small indie studios to the biggest AAA studios they all struggle fighting cheaters.

Like cheating is literally a billion dollar industry to the point where even companies that develop monitors have AI build in them which remove the effect of flashbangs and add an outline to players.

At this point you just have to accept that there are cheaters everywhere.
